Hello and welcome to my final card this week featuring the Waterfront stamp set. I really wanted to create a card that you could just lose yourself in and what better way than sitting on a dock watching the sun set behind mountains?
The card base is in Dapper Denim card stock cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, scored at 5 ½”, and the base layer is in Whisper White card stock cut at 5 ¼” x 4”.
First, start with stamping the mountain image in Early Espresso ink, more towards the top of the paper instead of the middle, and then stamp the sun image in Daffodil Delight ink just in-between the mountains to look like the sun is setting. The sun is then masked with a sticky note cut out with the ½” circle punch before I started coloring the sky to make it look like a sunset, using Stampin’ Sponges with Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, and Tangerine Tango inks to achieve this look. For the lake look, I used the water stamp in Marina Mist ink, stamping directly in front of the mountains for a shadow effect and then stamped off before I continued to fill in the look of the lake, using Stampin’ Sponges with Marina Mist ink to finish filling in the water.
To make the dock, I used Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack and the Classic Label Punch, trimming the ends and gluing together, so it looks like the dock is going out to the water. An Adirondack chair is perfect for sitting on a dock and this is from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies in Crushed Curry card stock. The sentiment is from the Colorful Seasons stamp set, stamped in Early Espresso ink and I added some sparkle to the sun, clouds, and water with Wink of Stella. This is then adhered to the card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Can you see yourself sitting on the dock and watching the sun set?
Please contact me if you have any questions about the products used on this or any other project. I hope you enjoyed this card and thanks for stopping by!
