Hello and welcome to today’s blog post, which is a super-sized Triple W fun fold card featuring products from the Whale of a Time Suite, Friends are Like Seashells Bundle, A Grand Kid stamp set, and Playful Alphabet Dies! My granddaughter’s 4th birthday is just around the corner and since her favorite color is blue, the Whale of a Time Suite is perfect with all the blues! I actually made a Triple W fun fold card for her 1st birthday and so I thought why not make one for this birthday? This was very easy to make, since I really let the Whale of a Time 6” x 6” DSP do all the work for me!
To start, the card base is Night of Navy cardstock, cut into two 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½” pieces:

For the inner strips, cut two pieces of Night of Navy cardstock at 1 ½” x 11”, emboss with the Seabed 3D Embossing Folder, and score at 2 ¾”, 5 ½”, and 8 ¼”. The “connector” piece, which you will adhere to connect the two card bases together, is Night of Navy cardstock, cut at 1” x 4 ¼”, and scored at ½” along the 1” side:

I used liquid glue to adhere the connector cardstock to the two ends of the card bases, then burnished the score lines, which will measure 4 ¼” x 5 ½” when completely folded:
You will have five folds for this card (the card front and four on the inside), and for the card front you will need:
1. This design from the Whale of a Time DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”.
2. Stamped the sentiment from A Grand Kid in Pacific Point ink and punched out with the smaller oval Double Oval Punch.
3. Used the scalloped oval Double Oval Punch to punch out of Night of Navy cardstock to layer under the sentiment.
4. Inked the whale stamp in Balmy Blue ink first and sponged Night of Navy ink along the top of the whale, stamping on Basic White cardstock, and punching out with the coordinating Whale Builder Punch.
5. From Pearlescent Specialty Paper, I used the Whale Builder Punch to punch out the water and the number 4 from the Playful Alphabet Dies, placing a piece of the Foam Adhesive Sheet on the back first.

You will adhere the above to the DSP base layer as shown, I used a wobble to adhere the whale:

For the next four folds, you will cut two of each of these designs from the Whale of a Time DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:

For the first inside fold, I stamped the sentiment from Whale Done in Pacific Point ink, stamped the bubbles in Balmy Blue ink, die-cut out with the third smallest Layering Ovals Dies, used the fourth smallest scalloped Layering Ovals Die to die-cut from Night of Navy cardstock to layer under the sentiment, and adhered the layered die-cut sentiment as shown:

For the second inside fold, I used the Playful Alphabet Dies to die-cut “happy” from Vellum cardstock, with adhesive sheet on the back, colored the die-cut vellum letters with the Dark Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends, and adhered as shown:

For the third inside fold, I stamped the sentiment from Whale Done in Pacific Point ink on Basic White cardstock, stamped the school of fish in Balmy Blue ink. This is punched out with the smaller Double Oval Punch, the larger scalloped punch from Night of Navy cardstock to layer under the sentiment, and adhere to the DSP as shown:

For the fourth inside fold, I used the Playful Alphabet Dies to die-cut “birthday” from Vellum cardstock, with adhesive sheet on the back, colored the die-cut vellum letters with the Dark Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends, and adhered as shown:

Each of the DSP base layers will be adhere to the card base folds, burnish the score lines of the inner strips to make a “W”, and I used liquid glue to adhere just the end pieces of the inner strips to the DSP:
To decorate the inner strips, I used all of the seashell stamps from Friends are Like Seashells, stamping half in Night of Navy/Versamark ink and half in Pacific Point/Versamark ink, heat setting in Clear Embossing Powder, and using the middle Water Painter to watercolor wash the shells in Balmy Blue ink. These are either die-cut out with the coordinating Seaside Shells Dies or “fussy cut” out:

I used liquid glue to adhere two shells each to the inner strip as shown:
I used the back fold for the sentiment wishes, which is a piece of Basic White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, the sentiment from A Grand Kid is stamped in Night of Navy ink, and the turtles are first inked in Granny Apple Green ink and sponged Night of Navy ink before stamping on the cardstock:

Talk about a super-sized fun fold card that is pretty easy to make! Even with all the folds and accents, this will still fit in a standard envelope! Lucky for us (my husband and I), my older son and family will be coming to our house to have a family party to celebrate her birthday! I think Nana (me) has hit this one out of the park and I can’t wait to see her face when she opens her card!!
