Love is in the air!

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a super cute and easy Valentine’s Card! I thought the Lift Me Up stamp set and the Up & Away Thinlits Dies would be perfect for making a alternative type of Valentine’s Day card, meaning if you didn’t want one that was “frilly and gushy”, lol!

The card base is Thick Whisper White cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”. The base layer is Lovely Lipstick cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and the next layer is this design from the All My Love DSP, cut at 3 ¾” x 5”. Since this is a horizontal card, make sure that you are cutting the DSP in the right direction. First adhere the DSP to the cardstock base layer:

The front of the card elements includes the big detailed hot air balloon and heart dies, cut out of Lovely Lipstick Foil Sheets, the sentiment is stamped in Lovely Lipstick ink and punched out with the Classic Label Punch, 1 big and 2 small clouds stamped on Whisper White cardstock in Powder Pink ink and cut out with the coordinating die, and then 3 Heart Epoxy Droplets, one in each size. Notice that one of those hearts are colored? Well, you can use those Stampin’ Blends to color them whatever color you would like! I am using clear for this card:

To assemble the card front, I wanted the hot air balloon to pop up, so I used Mini Dimensionals, which I cut in half, and placed in areas that they would not be seen, all three clouds are popped up with dimensionals, the foil heart is adhered to the DSP with the sentiment adhered on top, and then I placed the 3 epoxy hearts:

For the inside, I stamped the two small hot air balloons in Powder Pink ink and the bigger balloon in Lovely Lipstick ink. The sentiment is from Forever Lovely in Lovely Lipstick ink:

This card was so easy to make that I actually made 6 cards from this sheet of DSP and yes, there are pieces of DSP left over that I could easily make another 2-3 cards out of. I figured I better get a move on for my cards that I send out to friends and family! Lol

Up in the clouds

Hello and welcome to this week’s final feature of the Sunshine & Rainbows stamp set and the Rainbow Builder Dies. Today’s card is a combination of this bundle and the Up & Away Thinlits Dies, I just love it when two products can complement each other and create an awesome card! As I take you through the steps to make this card, you will notice it is not my “normal” way, starting with the card base and building from there. When I started to make this card, I only knew that I wanted the detailed hot air balloon thinlit, the clouds, the rainbow dies, and that I was going to use the new 2018-2020 In Colors and Gorgeous Grape (these are left over cardstock from yesterday’s post). So, let’s get started!

For the detailed hot air balloon thinlit, I chose to use a piece of Silver Foil Sheet because I felt it would help the background colors pop:

Next, I cut a piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper, 5 ¼” x 3”, and a piece of Whisper White cardstock, 5 ¼” x 2”, then used the cloud top thinlits from the Rainbow Builder Dies to cut the image out. Since I had enough scrap paper left from each, I used those to cut out two each of the other cloud images:

From the Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch, Call Me Clover, Blueberry Bushel, and Gorgeous Grape cardstock, I cut out the rainbow and the hot air balloon background:

To adhere all the hot air balloon pieces together, I used a Fine Tip Glue Pen and this will give you some wiggle room to line up the paper on the back:

I decided to Sponge Brayer Balmy Blue onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼” for the sky, I felt that with the rainbow and hot air balloons the sky should be very subtle:

The card base is Night of Navy cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

Since I wanted the rainbow to be peeking out from the clouds, I first put together all the pieces to get an idea of where I wanted them before I adhered anything:

I placed the Gorgeous Grape cardstock down and then positioned it behind the glimmer paper to start building the rainbow (you can always mark the place lightly with a pencil or place a ruler down):

I adhered each piece of the rainbow and the clouds with liquid glue, this will give you a little bit of wiggle room to align each piece:

The hot air balloon is adhered with dimensionals:

The smaller clouds are adhered with liquid glue and then the larger cloud is adhered to the card base with dimensionals:

The inside sentiment is on a piece of Whisper White cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, the sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy ink, and the hot air balloons are stamped 2nd, 3rd, and 4thgeneration in Balmy Blue (wanted these to be very light):

Special Delivery

Welcome to part 4 of Baby Week! When I sat down to create today’s card, I challenged myself to create a card from items that would not typically be used for a baby card. After looking and deciding and looking at my stamps, embossing folders, and thinlits some more, I decided on Up & Away Thinlits, Seaside Embossing Folder, and some additional elements to create today’s card. I chose Dapper Denim for the card color because I also challenged myself to use up some Designer Series Paper that I’ve been ignoring and this color is about to retire at the end of May! Let’s get started!

First start with a card base in Dapper Denim card stock, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, scored at 5 ½”:

fullsizeoutput_1719

To create the ombre’ hot air balloon, I used a piece of Color Theory DSP Stack in Dapper Denim, placed the thinlits on the paper from top to bottom, and then used a scrap piece of Wood Textures DSP Stack for the basket:

The base layer is a piece of Shimmery White cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, embossed with the Seaside Embossing Folder that I used a Sponge Brayer to ink Dapper Denim ink on:

To attach the basket to the hot air balloon, cut two 1” pieces of Dapper Denim Bakers Twine and adhere with Multipurpose Glue:

The embossed base layer is adhered to the card base and then the hot air balloon is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals:

I added some sparkle with the Glitter Enamel Dots in Dapper Denim and heat embossing the sentiment in Silver Embossing Powder on a piece of Whisper White cardstock, ½” x 3”:

fullsizeoutput_172e

The sentiments on the front and inside are both from the Special Celebrations stamp set, the inside is stamped in Dapper Denim ink, along with the balloon from the Dare to Dream stamp set. To create the ombre’ effect with this stamp, I simply stamped off:

I really love how this card came out, it was really quick and easy! You could also use the other colors from the Color Theory DSP Stack to recreate this card!
