Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is my third and final card for this week featuring the Whale of a Time Suite! For today’s card, I really wanted to show you a cute and easy card that really features the super cute Whale of a Time 6” x 6” DSP! In case you didn’t know, the punch coordinates with two of the designs to punch out the whale! How fun is that? I just love it when Stampin’ Up! takes the designer series paper up a notch with coordinating dies and punches that you can use to cut out of the design! The design that I chose for today’s card, however, is so cut and fun that you will want to use as much as you can for your card front!
I chose this design from the 6” x 6” DSP, I trimmed ¾” off on the right vertical side (top to bottom) and 2” off the top horizontal side (left to right), which will give you this piece measuring 4” x 5 ¼”. I basically took a smidge off the side and a little off the top, lol:
For the card front, you will need:
1. Four of the Flirty Flamingo seashells and two of the smaller sequins from the Whale of a Time Sequins.
2. On Whisper White cardstock, stamp the jellyfish in Blackberry Bliss ink, the seahorses two times in Calypso Coral ink, and the turtle stamp in Granny Apple Green ink, then use a Sponge Dauber in Pretty Peacock ink just around the edge of the turtle. After stamping, “fussy cut” the images out of the Whisper White cardstock.
3. Heat emboss the sentiment in White Emboss Powder on Pretty Peacock cardstock and use the “non-layering” die from the Stitched Rectangle Dies to cut out.
I adhered the embossed sentiment to the DSP, used dimensionals for the jellyfish and turtle, used mini dimensionals for the two seahorses, and used my Fine Tip Glue Pen with my Take Your Pick Tool to adhere and place the seashells and sequins as shown:
This completed piece is adhered to a Pretty Peacock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:
For the inside, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink, and adhere the ¾” strip of DSP (the back design of the card front) along the edge, trimming off the excess:
Isn’t this a super cute card using this design from the DSP?? It really does all the work for you!! I do have the remaining 2″ x 5 1/4″ piece of DSP, which I will use on the envelope flap for this card! I really hope you have enjoyed this week’s feature product, the Whale of a Time Suite!
