A starry night for Halloween

Hello and welcome to today’s card, featuring the Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper to create a starry night sky! This is a fun and easy card to make with the Spooky Sweets Bundle and the Twinkle Twinkle Builder Punch. Even if you only have this DSP, you can create your own version with supplies you already have on hand!

To create the front of this card, I first started with a scrap piece of Crushed Curry cardstock to punch out the moon and stars with the Twinkle Twinkle Punch. I took that scrap piece, placed it in my Stamparatus, put the moon cut-out back in place, and then lined up the moon stamp from Spooky Sweets to stamp in Crushed Curry ink. You can do this trick with just about any punch or framelit, just cut your cardstock big enough so that you can use the magnets to hold the paper in place:

You will also need use the Black Foil Sheet to punch out the bats and to cut out the branch from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies:

Cut the DSP to 3 ¾” x 5”, adhere the moon, two of the bats, and largest star with Mini Dimensionals and use the Fine Tip Glue Pen to adhere the branch, smaller stars, and dots. For these smaller pieces, I used my Take Your Pick tool to first pick up the piece and then placed a small amount of glue with the Fine Tip Glue Pen. This helps place just where you want and eliminates making a mess with the glue:

This is then adhered to the 4” x 5 ¼” Crushed Curry cardstock base layer and then adhered to the Basic Black cardstock card base, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½”:

The inside is a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of Whisper White cardstock, the moon and stars are stamped in Crushed Curry ink, the sentiment is in Memento ink, and I adhered the remaining bat with a Mini Dimensional:

Another quick and easy card to make multiples of! Another great alternative for the front is to use the Still Night Bundle, the branch and owl thinlits! That would be a super fun “alternative” Halloween card!

Little Twinkle Fun Fold Card

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is an easy fun fold card featuring the Twinkle Twinkle Suite! What I love about this suite is that the stamp set is versatile (not just for making a baby card), the colors of the DSP are soft, and the adhesive backed sequins and coordinating punch add just the right amount of accents! The template for this card is very easy and can be used for any of your card making creations!

First, start with Gray Granite cardstock, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 2 ¾” and at 5 ½”:

fullsizeoutput_285f

The inside card base is Soft Sea Foam cardstock, cut at 3 ¾” x 7 ½”, and scored at 3 ¾”:

fullsizeoutput_2862

For the outside card base, I used the star design from the Twinkle Twinkle DSP, one piece cut at 4” x 5 ¼” and two pieces cut at 4” x 2 ½”:

fullsizeoutput_2865

For the inside card base, I cut one piece of Whisper White cardstock and one piece of the Twinkle Twinkle DSP at 3 ½” x 3 ½” each:

fullsizeoutput_2868

I stamped the outside sentiment on a piece of Whisper White cardstock, heat embossed with Silver Emboss Powder, and fussy cut out. The moon and stars are punched out of Silver Foil Paper with the Twinkle Builder Punch and the adhesive backed stars are from the Twinkle Adhesive Backed Sequins:

fullsizeoutput_286b

To put the card together, adhere the DSP to the outer card base and the DSP and cardstock to the inner card base:

fullsizeoutput_286efullsizeoutput_2871fullsizeoutput_2874

Before you adhere the inner card base, position it where you want it to go, overlapping the front panel of the outer card base about half way. I used liquid glue on the back of the inner card base since this does not set right away and I can move the inner piece if needed:

fullsizeoutput_2877fullsizeoutput_287a

I tied a piece of Night of Navy Medium Baker’s Twine in a bow around the front panel, adhered the embossed star and the three smaller stars with snail, the bigger star with a Mini Dimensional, and then positioned the moon so the tip is overlapping the inner card base a little and adhered with Mini Dimensionals. This will help keep the card closed:

fullsizeoutput_287dfullsizeoutput_2880

The inside sentiment from Little Twinkle stamp set is stamped in Night of Navy ink and I used some of the adhesive backed stars for embellishment:

fullsizeoutput_2883

Isn’t this a fun and cute card?? You can easily change the DSP used if you need a more boy or girl themed card. This can also be changed into a child’s birthday card by using the “Love you more than all the stars” for the inside sentiment!

Something Spooky this way comes…

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which feature’s the Spooky Sweets Bundle from the 2018 Holiday Catalog! While Halloween is not for everyone, I however, LOVE Halloween, scary movies, and yes, Stephen King is my favorite author! Lol For me, making Halloween cards is the “kickoff” for the holiday seasons and the trick I learned a long time ago so that I would not get overwhelmed by the seasons, is to tackle one at a time. Since Halloween is first on the list, what made the Spooky Sweets Bundle a must is the Spooky Bats Punch. I just thought it was so stinking cute, especially if you punch them out using Black Foil Sheets!! Which brings us back to today’s card, which will show you how to create a super cute and “spooky” card!

You will need to first start with a piece of Whisper White cardstock, cut at 3 ¾” x 5”. For the moon, use a sponge dauber with Pineapple Punch ink where you want the moon to be in your scene. I used the Twinkle Builder Punch (also coordinates with this bundle) and created a mask for the moon:

fullsizeoutput_2667fullsizeoutput_266afullsizeoutput_266d

To start creating the sky, use black ink (Archival, Memento) with a sponge dauber across the top, being careful to not fully ink around the moon:

fullsizeoutput_2670

I repeated the process with Gorgeous Grape and Granny Apple Green inks and a sponge dauber across the cardstock, mixing the colors to blend so it looks like the sky is swirling with the colors:

fullsizeoutput_2673fullsizeoutput_2676

After coloring, you can remove the mask over the moon and by not coloring completely around the moon, it now looks like it’s “glowing”. The tree tops where created using the Lovely as a Tree stamp set in Memento Black ink. Stamping the trees in the middle will leave you enough room to stamp another tree on each side to make it look like a complete scene:

fullsizeoutput_2679fullsizeoutput_267c

The ”spooky clouds” are created with the background stamp from Spooky Sweets in Whisper White Craft ink. The bats are punched out in Black Foil and two of the bats are adhered to the front with mini dimensionals:

fullsizeoutput_267ffullsizeoutput_2682

This is then layered on a piece of 4” x 5 ¼” Gorgeous Grape DSP from the Brights 6’”x 6” Designer Series Paper and then adhered to a Basic Black card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_2685fullsizeoutput_2688

The inside sentiment is on a piece of 4” x 5 ¼” Whisper White cardstock, the moon is stamped in Pineapple Punch, the cloud is stamped in Gray Granite ink, the sentiment is stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink, and the remaining bat is adhered with a mini dimensional:

fullsizeoutput_268b

Wasn’t that fun and easy?? If you don’t have the Brights 6” x 6” DSP, you can always use a piece of Gorgeous Grape cardstock instead! On a side note, the sky reminds me of the movie “Maximum Overdrive”, which is based off the book by Stephen King! lol

More than all the stars

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which features the Little Twinkle Bundle! This bundle from the Annual Catalog has been on my shopping list, so when I made my pre-order for the 2018 Holiday Catalog and saw that the Twinkle Builder Punch coordinates with the Spooky Sweets Bundle, well I just had to get both! I just love the sentiments from the Little Twinkle stamp set and since Moon Baby was retired, this made it to my shopping list!! While this is obviously a great set for a baby card, you can actually use it for other occasions: child/grandchild birthday, spouse birthday, wedding, and anniversary. I didn’t order the coordinating Designer Series Paper because I wasn’t sure about it, but now I’ve taken some time to look and get some ideas, it will definitely be on my next order!

To create this card, first start with a piece of Night of Navy cardstock for the base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_25ff

The next two layers are Whisper White cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and Night of Navy cardstock, cut at 3 ¾” x 5”:

fullsizeoutput_2602

For the Night of Navy top layer, I first stamped the single star and heart stamps in Craft Whisper White ink:

fullsizeoutput_2605

For the moon and stars, I used the Twinkle Builder Punch to cut out pieces from a scrap of Silver Foil:

fullsizeoutput_2608

The moon and three bigger stars are adhered with mini dimensionals and everything else I used the Fine Tip Glue Pen. For these small pieces I used the Take Your Pick tool and that was a life saver!!:

fullsizeoutput_260e

I added a little more sparkle with the Rhinestone Basic Jewells and then used some Silver Baker’s Twine to wrap around the bottom three times and tie into a bow:

fullsizeoutput_2611

I then adhered the Night of Navy cardstock to the Whisper White cardstock with dimensionals. This piece is then adhered to the card base with snail adhesive:

fullsizeoutput_2614fullsizeoutput_2617

The inside sentiment and accent stamps are stamped in Night of Navy ink:

fullsizeoutput_261a

Wasn’t that quick and easy? This is a great example of how this could be a birthday card or even an anniversary card.

The 2018 Holiday Catalog will be live September 5th, so if you would like a complimentary copy please contact me for more details!!
