The next layer is from the True Gentleman Designer Series Paper, cut at 2” x 5 ¼”:

On a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, the sentiment from the Truly Tailored stamp set is stamped in Night of Navy ink, punched out with the Tailored Tag Punch, and two more pieces of the DSP are punched out with this punch as well. I cut a piece of the Crumb Cake Classic Weave Ribbon and tied a knot in the middle:

I cut the punched pieces of DSP in half and then used liquid glue to adhere to the back of the sentiment piece:

The 2” DSP is adhered to the base layer and then the ribbon is adhered across:

The front sentiment is adhered with dimensionals and I used two buttons from the True Gentleman Buttons, linen thread is tied in the middle, and adhered with glue dots. This base layer is then adhered to the card base:

The inside sentiment is stamped in Chocolate Chip and Night of Navy inks:

Dapper Day

Hello and welcome to today’s card featuring the True Gentleman Suite! A few years ago, I made a “Shirt Card” for that I sent out for Father’s Day and I thought today I would make an updated version! This is another great way to have your Designer Series Paper work for you and it is quite simple to make.

The card base is Crumb Cake cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_1d31

The base layer is from the True Gentleman DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and then cut again 1” from the top and 1” across, this will make the shirt collar:

fullsizeoutput_1d34

The collar is folded down and adhered with glue dots:

fullsizeoutput_1d37

The bow is made from the same DSP, using the bow builder punch, and I used glue dots to adhere together:

fullsizeoutput_1d3a

I cut a ½” x 4” piece of DSP and 4 buttons from the True Gentleman Buttons, Gold Thread is threaded thru the button holes:

fullsizeoutput_1d3d

The strip of DSP is adhered with Snail and glue dots for the buttons:

fullsizeoutput_1d40

The completed shirt is then adhered to the card base:

fullsizeoutput_1d43

The inside sentiment is on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and stamped in Night of Navy ink:

On a ½” piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, stamp the word Dapper in Versamark ink and heat emboss in Copper Embossing Powder. The ends are trimmed with the Banner Triple Punch and then adhered with dimensionals:

This is such a quick and easy card, great for any occasion and making multiples of!

Lookin’ Sharp!

Hello and welcome to today’s card featuring the True Gentleman Suite! Since the last two days featured Manly Moments from this month’s Paper Pumpkin kit and this upcoming Saturday is Stamp It Groups Father’s Day Blog Hop, I’m going to keep the theme of Father’s Day and Masculine Cards going! Today we are going to create a quick and simple card that is great if you are pressed for time or would like to make multiples of!

The card base is Tranquil Tide cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_1d0f

The base layer is from the True Gentleman Designer Series Paper, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_1d12

On a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, stamp the sentiment in Night of Navy ink, and punch out using the Tailored Tag Punch. Cut a piece of 2” x 2” Night of Navy cardstock to layer the sentiment on:

fullsizeoutput_1d16

Cut a piece of Tranquil Tide Finely Woven Ribbon long enough to go across the middle and adhere to the back of the DSP:

Adhere the base layer to the card base:

fullsizeoutput_1d1f

After adhering the punched sentiment to the 2” x 2” cardstock, use dimensionals to adhere across the ribbon:

fullsizeoutput_1d22

After I did this, I felt like the card needed a little something more, so I used some Linen Thread on two buttons from the True Gentleman Buttons and adhered those with glue dots:

fullsizeoutput_1d25

For the inside sentiment on a piece of 4” x 5 ¼” Very Vanilla cardstock, it is stamped in Tranquil Tide ink and then I used my Stamparatus for the images along the bottom in Night of Navy ink:

fullsizeoutput_1d2e

This is a fun and easy card to make that is great for anyone and any occasion!

Don’t forget, the Truly Tailored stamp set, Tranquil Tide Finely Woven Ribbon,  and True Gentleman DSP are on the Retirement List! Celebrate in Style!

Hello and welcome to my final feature this week with the True Gentleman Suite! When I was trying to decide what I would create for this post, I thought this would be a great opportunity to get out my Stamparatus and create a background with the Hinge-Step Technique! Now, I have played with the Stamparatus a little bit and these are the helpful tips I can give as of now: 1)Use either Washi Tape, Painters Tape, or something similar on the magnets as this will help you remove/move them around as they are strong and if for some reason they attract to each other because they are too close, it will also help with pulling them apart and possibly from breaking, and 2) Using Stampin Spots to ink up your stamp(s) is much easier and not nearly as messy as using a Classic Ink Pad. As a Paper Pumpkin Subscriber, I have acquired the collection of Stampin Spots, but I plan on ordering some of the Uninked Stampin’ Spots (found in the Annual Catalog on page 201) so if I find there is a color I could really use in a spot, I will have it handy and I already have all the ink refills.

This card base is in Sahara Sand cardstock, cut at 4 ¼” x 11” and scored at 5 ½”.  To create the background, I stamped one image in Chocolate Chip ink and the other in Night of Navy ink using the Hinge-Step Technique with the Stamparatus.

fullsizeoutput_15c2

I cut one piece of the True Gentleman Designer Series Paper at 2” x 4” and another piece at 1 ½” x 3 ½”, trimming the end with the Banner Triple Punch and adhering together. The sentiment is stamped in Tranquil Tide ink and the image below is stamped in Night of Navy ink on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. This is then cut out with the 2nd largest oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits and then a piece of Night of Navy cardstock is cut out with the 3rd largest scalloped oval from the Layering Ovals Framelits, adhere together.

The card is put together by adhering the DSP to the card base, adhering the ovals on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and then wrapping a piece of Linen Thread around twice and tying into a bow.

Creating this background with the Stamparatus was super easy and I cannot wait to play with it some more! What do you think?

Dapper Day

Hello and welcome to another feature with the True Gentleman Suite! While I was surfing Pinterest for some pinspiration (this is a great place to CASE or get inspiration), I saw some cards utilizing the Tailored Punch Tag and True Gentleman Designer Series Paper as the background, but I thought I would take it up a notch and make the whole background (or as much as possible) out of the DSP!

The card base is in Crumb Cake cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”. Since the DSP is double sided, I punched out 13 pieces with the Tailored Tag Punch and started at the bottom with 3 pieces, working my way to the top. Use Paper Snips to trim any pieces that are off the edge of the cardstock. The sentiment is stamped in Chocolate Chip ink on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and cut out using the largest square from the Stitched Shapes Framelits turned to a 90-degree angle. On a scrap piece of Night of Navy cardstock, the word “dapper” is stamped in Versamark ink (I used tape to mask the words above and below before inking) and then heat embossed in Copper Embossing Powder. I then cut the Night of Navy cardstock down so it will fit, used the Banner Triple Punch on the ends, adhered over the stamped word, and then added some Night of Navy Enamel Shapes. I cut about a 4” piece of ¼” Copper Trim, stretching the fibers out, or pulling them from side to side and top to bottom, and then adhering to the back of the square at an angle. This piece is then adhered to the top of the DSP with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

fullsizeoutput_15b9

Do you like how copper is a great accent to these colors? The heat embossing came to me after I made the card because I felt like it was just missing something, I love how this ended up turning out!

True Gentleman Suite

Hello and welcome to a new week and a new theme, the True Gentleman Suite! Let’s face it, we all struggle at one time or another to make a masculine card, so the True Gentleman Suite may be just what you are looking for! This week is just a sampling of what you can make from this suite, I’ll definitely be sharing creativity again in the future! Today’s card is a great way to design two cards with two pieces of the True Gentleman Designer Series Paper.

The card base is in Very Vanilla cardstock, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, scored at 5 ½’, the base layer is in Chocolate Chip cardstock, cut at 4 x 5 ¼”, and the True Gentleman DSP is cut at 3 ¾” x 5”, which you will want two of each. I chose two different pieces of DSP, lined up each piece in my Stampin’ Trimmer diagonally, and then cut.

On Very Vanilla cardstock, I chose two different sentiments, stamped one in Chocolate Chip ink, and the other in Night of Navy ink. These are both punched out with the Tailored Tag Punch and then use Paper Snips to trim down along each side. Then chose another piece of DSP design and punch out two pieces with the Tailored Tag Punch. When you adhere the sentiment to the DSP, this will give it a layered look.

To finish the card, adhere the two different pieces of DSP to the base layer, then adhere a piece of 5/8” Burlap Ribbon across diagonally, on top of the DSP and base layer, to the corners with enough hanging over to you can snip off the excess. The sentiment will be adhered on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added a little bling to one with the Metallic Enamel Shapes and a pop of color to the other with Crushed Curry from the Regals Enamel Shapes.

If you are looking for cards to make that are quick, easy, and minimal steps, this may be right up your alley! As an added bonus, you are making two cards at one time! I hope you enjoy these cards as much as I do.
