Lighthouse on the horizon

Hello and welcome to today’s blog post, which features the new Lighthouse Point Bundle and Deckled Rectangles Dies from the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog, paired with the On the Horizon Bundle and the New Horizons 6” x 6” DSP from the January – June 2022 Mini Catalog! With all the new products in the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog, where do you start?? For me, it’s what “speaks” to me and the Lighthouse Point Bundle is right at the top! Not only do you have a stamp set that you can build your scenery, but you have 11 amazing dies that coordinate! For my first card with this bundle, I thought I would show you how easy it is to make a card using the dies and pairing them with the fun New Horizons Suite!

The base layer is Basic White cardstock, which I used the largest Deckled Rectangle die to die-cut out and embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. The next layer is this design from the New Horizons DSP, which I used the second largest Deckled Rectangle die to die-cut out:

For the rest of the card front, you will need:

1. Using the large lighthouse outline die, die-cut from Basic Gray cardstock.

2. Using the large, detailed lighthouse die, place some adhesive sheet on the back of a piece of Basic White cardstock and die-cut out.

3. Using the small, detailed rectangle die, place some adhesive sheet on the back of a piece of mirrored foil Silver Foil Specialty Pack.

4. Use the two background dies from the Horizon Dies to die-cut from Vellum cardstock.

To build the lighthouse, remove the adhesive backing from the Basic White cardstock die-cut and adhere to the Basic Gray lighthouse outline die-cut, and then remove the adhesive backing from the small silver foil die-cut and adhere to the lighthouse as shown:

The card base is Night of Navy cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”, the two die-cut base layers are adhered to the card front, place some adhesive on the back of the lighthouse to adhere the two vellum die-cuts as shown, and then adhere this piece to the layered base layers, snipping the excess vellum cardstock off:

For the inside, cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment from On the Horizon in Night of Navy ink, and adhere a ¾” x 4” strip of DSP along the bottom:

For the coordinating Basic White Medium Envelope, I stamped the lighthouse on the front in Night of Navy ink and adhered the left-over strip of DSP to the envelope flap, trimming off the excess along the sides:

This card is all about the die-cutting, which was super easy to make! This really was the perfect card for me to make since I’ve been down with a sinus infection the last week and a half, which is why I have been a little MIA! While I’m not completely over it, each day is a little bit better and after my order arrived, it was time to spend a little “creative therapy” in my craft room!
