Hello and welcome to today’s blog post, which is a sweet Valentine’s Day card for couples, for your sweetie, or even a wedding card featuring the Lots of Heart Bundle! This card is super easy to make and you can use any of your favorite colors on the True Love DSP with the new Blending Brushes! While you’re at it, add a little sparkle with the Wink of Stella pen!
The base layer is Crumb Cake cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼” (horizontal), and embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder:
The next layer is Blushing Bride cardstock, cut at 4 ¼” x 3 ¼”, and this design from the True Love DSP, cut at 4” x 3”. I used my Blending Brushes to color the flowers with Blushing Bride ink and the leaves with Granny Apple Green ink, then went over the flowers with my Wink of Stella pen. I also lightly dragged the edges of the cardstock and DSP over the Blushing Bride ink pad, just to give a little color along the edges:
For the rest of the card front, you will need:
1. One Square Vellum Doily.
2. Use the bird die from Many Hearts Dies to die-cut one each out of Crumb Cake and Sahara Sand cardstocks.
3. Place some adhesive sheet on the back of the Blushing Bride Foil Sheet from the Love You Always Foil Sheets and use the small heart from Many Hearts Dies to die-cut out.
4. You will need three of the 5mm Matte Black Dots, not shown.
I first adhered the Blushing Bride cardstock and DSP layers together and then laid the Square Vellum Doily, positioning as shown, on top so it is in the middle. I removed the backing from the small foil heart to place in the middle of the doily to help adhere to the DSP layer. For the birds, I glued the Sahara Sand wing to the Crumb Cake Bird, flipped the Sahara Sand bird over (so it will be facing the opposite way), adhered the Crumb Cake wing to the Sahara Sand bird, and glued the birds to the vellum doily:
This piece is adhered to the middle of the embossed Crumb Cake base layer, which is then adhered to a Crumb Cake cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”. I then placed the three Matte Black Dots in the bottom corner of the embossed base layer as shown:
For the inside, cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment in Blushing Bride ink, and stamp the small heart along the bottom in Blushing Bride and Crumb Cake inks, stamping off once first with the Crumb Cake ink:
This is a super cute and easy card to make, which you can get 12 cards from one 12″ x 12″ sheet of DSP! It’s perfect for Valentine’s Day, anniversary, or a wedding! Even though I have been using this bundle for my Valentine’s cards, it really is versatile! Pairing it with the True Love DSP or the Love You Always Specialty DSP or Foil Sheets will make some super sweet cards!
