Hello and welcome to today’s cards, which features the Tags & Tidings Bundle! Every year I like to make Christmas tags and I also like to send a batch of tags to family, because who wouldn’t like to use a homemade tag on a gift?? My first thought is that this bundle will make it so much easier to make Christmas tags, there’s one stamp and one thinlit die to cut out the 16 images, and then I can use punches, dies, and even retired DSP to create super cute tags! Then I thought, what if I procrastinated, didn’t have time to place my order, was on a tight budget, or even was limiting myself to one Christmas Bundle? Which would I choose that was versatile and unique? The Tags & Tidings Bundle is a great choice! So today, I am going to show you how I made 6 cards from this bundle.
To start, cut 3 sheets of Shaded Spruce cardstock cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”, for a total of 6 card bases:
The base layer is Real Red cardstock, which I used two sheets to cut the 6 pieces at 4” x 5 ¼”. I then stamped this in Memento Ink and I highly suggest using your Stamparatus because this is a Photopolymer stamp and I had to stamp it a couple of times because some of the thicker lines didn’t pick up the ink completely the first time:
I used a piece of 4” x 5 ½” Whisper White cardstock to stamp the image again in Memento Ink. I then colored in various images using Dark Real Red, Dark Shaded Spruce, Light Pool Party, Dark Pineapple Punch, and Light Soft Suede Stampin’ Blends. The images where then cut out using the Christmas Tags Thinlits Dies:
I wanted to make half of the cards with Silver and the other half with Gold accents, so I used Gold and Silver Glimmer Paper to layer the tags on:
The first set of tags I used the 1 1/8” 1 3/8” Scallop Circle Punches. The second set I used the Classic Label Punch, I just cut a piece of glimmer paper slightly larger than the tag for the other two, and then used the Detailed Trio Punch to round the corners on one. The third set I used the Banner Triple Punch. For the fourth set I used the Tailored Tag Punch, one just layered on the punched glimmer paper, one I used it to cut the corners to match the tag, and then for the other two, I punched out the glimmer paper, adhered the tag, and then just snipped the sides:
For these two cards, I used the gold layered tags, adhered some Gold Metallic Thread to the back of two, and used some Gold Metallic Pearls. These are adhered to the base layer with dimensionals:
These next two cards use the silver layered tags, Silver Metallic thread adhered to the back to two, and use Silver Metallic Pearls:
These last two cards only have two tags instead of three, but you will still use the Metallic Thread and Pearls for accents:
The inside of all six use stamps from Snowflake Sentiments, stamped in Real Red and Shaded Spruce inks:
Once I figured out the best way to layer some of the tags, this was pretty easy to make. It is even possible to make 8 cards from this if you only use silver or gold (not both) to layer the tags or make 16 just using one tag on the card front. Another idea since this is a photopolymer stamp and pliable, is you can use one of the tags to create the background and then create a big tag for the front. A lot of possibilities for this bundle!
