Filled with Love

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is featuring the Animal Expedition Suite! With the new Watercolor Pencils that are available now through August 31st(while supplies last), I was able to use the Crushed Curry pencil from this set to help color in these super cute giraffes!! The sentiments are from the Special Celebrations stamp set, which is a great set to have for many different occasions.

To make this card, start with the card base in Thick Whisper White cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_244b

The base layer is Crushed Curry cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and embossed with the Climbing Vines Textured Impressions Embossing Folder:

fullsizeoutput_2448

The giraffe stamp from Animal Outing stamp set is stamped on Watercolor Paper in Stazon Ink. They are then colored in with the Crushed Curry and Early Espresso Watercolor Pencils and blended with an Aqua Painter. After the paper dries, they are cut out with the coordinating die from the Animal Friends Thinlits Dies:

fullsizeoutput_2442fullsizeoutput_2445

I cut a piece of this Designer Series Paper from Animal Expedition DSP to 1 ½” x 4”. I used the leaf die from Animal Friends to cut out 5 pieces in Call Me Clover cardstock and 2 additional leaves in Vellum cardstock with the Leaf Punch. The sentiment is on Whisper White cardstock in Call Me Clover ink and punched out with the Tailored Tag Punch. I cut an 8” piece of Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon and folded in half:

I used liquid glue to adhere the giraffes to the DSP, so this will give me some room to move them before it sets:

fullsizeoutput_2455

I placed some Snail on the back of the DSP to help adhere a couple of the Call Me Clover and Vellum leaves to the back and then used liquid glue on the rest:

fullsizeoutput_2458

A small amount of Snail is used on the front for the Tulle Ribbon and then the sentiment is attached using dimensionals. I used my Silicon Craft Sheet underneath while putting this together so the DSP would not stick to my grid paper:

fullsizeoutput_245b

fullsizeoutput_2495

The giraffe piece is then adhered to the embossed base layer and then this is adhered to the card base:

fullsizeoutput_2461fullsizeoutput_2464

The inside sentiment is stamped in Call Me Clover ink and then I used the Call Me Clover Stampin’ Write Marker to color only part of the leaf stamp:

Isn’t this a fun and cute card?? With all the new Watercolor Pencil colors, this will make choosing your colors easy!

Sending smiles

Hello and welcome to today’s card, featuring the Animal Friends Thinlits Dies and the Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper! Not only is this a fun and easy card to make, but a great way to create a background using the giraffe print embossing die! Another way to use this die is with the Big Shot Embossing Mats and create a textured background instead of cutting like I used for this card. If you have not checked out these embossing mats, it’s a total game changer for the way you can use some of the Big Shot Dies, and a great addition to your crafting!!

The card base is Crumb Cake cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_21d1

The base layer is Pool Party cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼” and I used the giraffe embossing die from the Animal Friends Thinlits Dies to cut the paper around the edges to create the background:

fullsizeoutput_21d4

The next layer is Crumb Cake cardstock, cut at 3 ¼” x 4 ½”:

fullsizeoutput_21d7

The final layer is from the Animal Expedition DSP, cut at 3” x 4 ¼:

fullsizeoutput_21da

To create the sentiment from the Lift Me Up stamp set, first cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock 1” x 3” and then a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock 1 ¼” x 3 ¼”. I used Pool Party and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Markers to stamp the sentiment, used the Banner Triple Punch on the ends, and then adhered together:

Adhere the four layers of the card front together, I first adhered the Pool Party base layer to the Crumb Cake card base, adhered the DSP to the Crumb Cake layer, and then adhered to the card base:

fullsizeoutput_21e3

To complete the card front, I placed some Snail on the back of the sentiment to secure some Silver Metallic Thread, adhered to the card with dimensionals, and then placed some Silver Metallic Pearls randomly:

fullsizeoutput_21e6

The inside sentiment is on a piece of 4” x 5 ¼” Whisper White cardstock, using the sentiment from the Special Celebrations stamp set in Crumb Cake ink and the accent stamp from the Animal Outing Stamp Set in Pool Party ink, and then cutting a piece of the DSP to ½” x 4” and adhered along the bottom:

fullsizeoutput_21e9fullsizeoutput_21ec

I really like how the Pool Party layer turned out using the giraffe embossing die, I wasn’t sure how it was going to turn out when I first started creating it! Another alternative idea, is that you could change the sentiment to “welcome” and “little one” from the Animal Outing stamp set.

Life is a Beautiful Thing

Hello and welcome to today’s card, featuring another faux Stained-Glass technique! To create this version, I used the butterfly from the Springtime Impression Thinlits Dies, Watercolor Pencils, Watercolor Paper, and Champagne Foil Sheets!

I first started with a piece of Watercolor Paper, cut down to fit the butterfly die (3” x 4”), and then embossed using the Big Shot Embossing Mats:

fullsizeoutput_2127

I next colored the wings using Calypso Coral, Melon Mambo, and Rich Razzleberry Watercolor Pencils and used the medium tip Aqua Painter to blend the colors:

fullsizeoutput_212afullsizeoutput_212dfullsizeoutput_2130

I heat embossed Clear Embossing Powder two times over the image. This is achieved by pressing the VersaMark pad directly to the paper, sprinkling Clear Embossing Powder, and then using the Heat Tool:

fullsizeoutput_2133

Cut a piece of the Champagne Foil Sheet and Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet to 3” x 4”, adhere the adhesive sheet to the back of the foil sheet, and then run the butterfly die through the Big Shot (no messy glue to adhere to the Watercolor Paper):

fullsizeoutput_2124

Cut out the butterfly outline from the Watercolor Paper, remove the adhesive backing from the foil butterfly, and then lay over the embossed butterfly:

fullsizeoutput_2136fullsizeoutput_2139

Here is a close-up of the butterfly:

fullsizeoutput_213c

The card base is Crumb Cake cardstock, but at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_213f

The base layer is from the Petal Promenade DSP, cut at 4” x 5”:

fullsizeoutput_2142

The sentiment is from the Colorful Seasons stamp set, heat embossed in “Champagne” Embossing Powder (this is made combining Gold and Silver Embossing Powders):

fullsizeoutput_2145

The card front is completed by adhering the butterfly with Mini Dimensionals, using the Detailed Trio Punch on two opposite corners, the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls in Petal Pink and Rich Razzleberry, and then adhering to the card base with dimensionals:

fullsizeoutput_2148

The inside sentiment is from the Special Celebrations stamp set on Whisper White cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamped in Crumb Cake ink. The flowers on the bottom are from the Colorful Seasons stamp set, stamped in Petal Pink and Rich Razzleberry inks:

fullsizeoutput_214bfullsizeoutput_214e

So what do you think of this version? This was fun and easy to make, but the only thing that I was disappointed in was that the Rich Razzleberry and Melon Mambo Watercolor Pencils looked too similar after using the Aqua Painter.

I will definitely do this again, but next time I am going to use the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies and ink, so stay tuned!!

Thanks for being you

Hello and welcome to today’s card featuring the Tutti-Frutti 6” x 6” DSP Stack! When I was looking through this paper stack to decide on which one to use, for some reason the rhino from the Animal Outing stamp set (which is in the new 2018-2019 Annual Catalog and you can see my post about this here) came to mind! I’ve been trying my best not to use any new products (use up the retiring to make way for the new), but I just thought this was too cute!!

The card base is Garden Green cardstock cut at 4 ¼” x 11” and scored at 5 ½”:

fullsizeoutput_1ab4

I cut the DSP into three pieces, one piece is 1 ½” x 6” and two pieces at 3” x 4 ½”. You will not be using the 1 ½” x 6” piece, but this is a great piece that can be used on another card:

fullsizeoutput_1ab1

The rhino image is stamped in Memento Ink on a piece of Whisper White cardstock and I used Light Crumb Cake, Light and Dark Smokey Slate, Light Pumpkin Pie, and Dark Pineapple Punch (this color will be available in the 2018-2019 AC) Stampin’ Blends Markers. I used the 3rdlargest square to cut this out and the 2ndlargest scalloped square on Lemon Lime Twist cardstock from the Layering Squares Framelits:

fullsizeoutput_1ab7

To put this card together, adhere the two pieces of DSP to the card base:

fullsizeoutput_1aba

Then adhere the two square pieces together and adhere to the card front with dimensionals:

fullsizeoutput_1abd

I felt the card front needed a little something else, so I used the Real Red hearts from the Brights Enamel Shapes:

fullsizeoutput_1ac0

The inside sentiment is on a  piece of Whisper White cardstock cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, the sentiment is from the Special Celebrations stamp set in Garden Green ink, and the frog on the branch image is from the Animal Outing stamp set, stamped in Memento ink and colored with Light Crumb Cake, Light Old Olive, and Dark Pineapple Punch Stampin’ Blends:

fullsizeoutput_1ac3

This is such a quick, easy, and cute card that you can change the sentiment on the inside to anything!

I hope today’s card inspires you to get creative! Please contact me if you have any questions about the products used on this or any other project. I hope you enjoyed today’s blog and thanks for stopping by!

May Your Glass Be Half Full

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is continuing with the Half Full stamp set! When using this stamp set I tend to want to use Berry Burst or Fresh Fig colors, so I once again set out to challenge myself to use a color scheme that would not be typical and incorporate some items on the retirement list! I don’t know about you, but I have a TON of ribbon and Designer Series Paper that is either already retired or is on the new retirement list!

To make this card, I started with the card base in Tranquil Tide cardstock, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½”:

fullsizeoutput_1a1c

The base layer is from the Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate, cut at 4 ¼” x 5 ½”:

fullsizeoutput_1a1f

The next layer is from the Wood Textures DSP Paper Stack, cut at 3” x 4 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_1a22

On a piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the wine glassed image in Memento Ink, color in with a Stampin’ Blends Pen using So Saffron and Fresh Fig inks, and then cut out using the largest oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits:

fullsizeoutput_1a25

I cut a piece of Tranquil Tide Finely Woven Ribbon long enough to go the length of the DSP and be able to adhere in the back. The sentiment is then adhered on top with dimensionals:

fullsizeoutput_1a28

I adhered the acetate piece to the card base with Fast Fuse, only in the area that would be covered by the DSP, and then adhered the DSP on top:

fullsizeoutput_1a2e

The inside sentiment is from the Special Celebrations stamp set in Tranquil Tide ink on a piece of 4” x 5 ¼” Whisper White cardstock and from Timeless Textures, stamped the image in So Saffron and Fresh Fig inks, stamping off first:

fullsizeoutput_1a31

I hope today’s card inspires you to get creative! Please contact me if you have any questions about the products used on this or any other project. I hope you enjoyed today’s blog and thanks for stopping by!

For the engagement

Hello and welcome to my final day featuring Weddings and Anniversaries! Today is a clean and simple engagement card and is a great way to congratulate the happy couple!

The card base is Whisper White cardstock, cut at 4 ¼” x 11” and scored at 5 ½”.

The base layer is Silver Foil Sheet, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”.

The top layer is another piece of Whisper White cardstock, cut at 3 ¾” x 5”. I used the Large Letters Framelits to cut out the word LOVE:

fullsizeoutput_17e6The two rings are cut out of a scrap piece of Silver Foil sheet using the ¾” and 1” circle punches and I created the diamond using a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper and the smallest scalloped Layering Squares, just using the corner of the framelit and then using scissors to round the two top corners. The ring pieces are adhered with the Fine Tip Glue Pen and the diamond is adhered with a Mini Dimensional. This layer is then adhered to the Silver Foil Sheet:

fullsizeoutput_17e9

This piece is then adhered to the card base:

fullsizeoutput_17ef

The inside sentiment is from the Special Celebrations stamp set, heat embossed in Silver Embossing Powder:

fullsizeoutput_17ec

This is such a simple, but elegant card that is easy to make! What do you think?

fullsizeoutput_1788

The base layer is a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, cut at 3 ½” x 4 x ¾”:

fullsizeoutput_178b

Using the Timeless Textures stamp set, heat emboss the image using Champagne Embossing Powder (This is made by combining Gold and Silver Embossing Powders) and then stamp the other image in Fresh Fig ink:

fullsizeoutput_178e

Cut at piece of Very Vanilla cardstock at ½” x 4 ½” and a piece of Champagne Foil Sheet at ¾” x 5”. The sentiment is from the Special Celebrations stamp set, stamped in Fresh Fig ink:

fullsizeoutput_1792

Use the Banner Triple Punch to trim both ends after adhering together:

fullsizeoutput_1795

I placed some adhesive on the back of the sentiment to secure the 1/8” Sheer Ribbon in Fresh Fig. I adhered the base layer to the card base and then adhered the sentiment with dimensionals:

fullsizeoutput_1798

The inside sentiment is from the Special Celebrations stamp set, stamped in Fresh Fig ink, and I used the same stamp from Timeless Texture on the front of the card to heat emboss in Champagne Embossing Powder:

fullsizeoutput_179b

I really love the Fresh Fig and Champagne color combo! You could change the colors on this card to coordinate with a wedding that you are giving this to! What do you think?
