It’s his day to relax!

Hello and welcome to today’s blog post, which is a quick and easy Father’s Day card featuring the A Cut Above stamp set! If you are deterred from the A Cut Above stamp set because it looks like there is just too much coloring to do, then this card is a great example for you! Keeping the color combination easy with just Basic Black and Basic White with Real Red as the pop of color makes this card super easy to make! Then if you add just a couple easy accents, you have a super cute masculine themed card!

The base layer is this design from the True Love 12” x 12” DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼” (make sure the stripes are horizontal). I made six of these cards, so I used the whole sheet of DSP, six bases at 4” x 5 ¼” and six inside strips at ¾” x 4”:

For the card front, you will need:

1. Cut a piece of Real Red cardstock at 4 ¾” x 3 ½” and use the second largest Stitched with Whimsy Die to emboss the cardstock.

2. Cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 4” x 2 ¾”, stamp the hammock image in Memento ink close to the top 4” side and stamp the sentiment in Real Red ink along the bottom 4” side. Tip-I used my Stamparatus to stamp both of these stamps, the hammock image on one side of the plate and the sentiment on the other. I used Ivory, Bronze, Dark Real Red, Dark Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends to color the man.

3. Enough of the silver Simply Elegant Trim to wrap around the Real Red cardstock two times, forming a crisscross.

Wrap the silver trim around the Real Red cardstock so the front looks like this crisscross, securing the ends to the back of the cardstock (I used masking tape for this):

Adhere the Real Red cardstock, centered, on top of the DSP base layer and use dimensionals to adhere the Basic White cardstock, centered, on top of the Real Red cardstock:

This completed piece is adhered to a Real Red cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

For the inside, cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, adhere the ¾” x 4” strip of DSP along the left side, and stamp the sentiment in Real Red ink:

Isn’t this a super cute card for Father’s Day?? Change the sentiment and you have a masculine themed card for any occasion! If you’ve been considering Stampin’ Blends and not sure where to begin, this stamp set is perfect! You can start with just a few basic colors, which will get you familiar with the Stampin’ Blends, and then slowly add more as you go along!
