Hello and welcome to today’s card, which feature’s the Lovely Lily Pad stamp set, Lily Pad Dies, and Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper from the 2020 Sale-A-Bration Catalog! A couple of weeks ago, I participated in the Stamp It Group’s monthly blog hop which featured cards and projects from the SAB catalog and for my card, I used the Lovely Lily Pad stamp set and coordinating Lily Pad Dies. Well, I absolutely loved how the lily turned out using Stampin’ Blends and heat embossing, so I wanted to create another card, but change up the colors used. The design I used for the base layer of this card actually inspired the colors I used for the lily, which I love how this turned out as well!
For the base layer, I chose this design from the Lily Impressions DSP. This DSP comes in 12” x 12” sheets, so I cut this sheet up to create six cards: trim 1 ½” off the bottom, turn the DSP 90 degrees, cut at 4”, three times across (you will have three 4” x 10 ½” sheets), and then cut those sheets in half (along the 10 ½” side) at 5 ¼”. As for the 1 ½” x 12” strip, cut that at the 4” mark three times and then cut the 1 ½” side in half, at ¾”. This will give you six small strips measuring ¾” x 4”, for the inside of the card:

For the rest of the card front, you will need:
1. Use the Pool Party So Very Vellum cardstock and cut into 2 ½” x 2 ½” squares.
2. Using the Silver Metallic Thread, wrap around your four fingers, four times.
3. Stamp the sentiment from Timeless Tulips in Calypso Coral ink on Whisper White cardstock and punch out with the 1” Circle Punch. Use the 1 3/8” Scallop Circle Punch to punch out a piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock, this will be layered under the sentiment.
4. For the leaves and lily pad, first ink the outline stamp in Versamark ink, then in Garden Green ink, and stamp on Whisper White cardstock. Sprinkle Clear Emboss Powder and set with your heat tool (don’t forget to use your Embossing Buddy on the cardstock first!). I colored these in with the Light Call Me Clover Stampin’ Blends and along one side of the leaves, I used the Dark Call Me Clover Stampin’ Blends to give a little shading. These are then cut out with the coordinating dies.
5. For the large lily, first use your Embossing Buddy on a piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the outline stamp in Versamark ink and then Calypso Coral ink, sprinkle with Clear Emboss Powder, and set with your heat tool. I first started coloring the inner part of the flower petals with Dark Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends, then Light Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends, and then finally Dark Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends, not just the tip of the petals, but over the whole petal.

To assemble the lily, leaves, lily pad, and Silver Metallic Thread, I placed some adhesive on the back of the lily and when I placed the metallic thread, I made sure it was coming out from the top of the lily only. I then used glue dots to adhere the leaves and placed a couple more glue dots to adhere the lily pad to the lily:

I used some adhesive along the lily pad and leaves to adhere to the vellum square, positioned towards the bottom of the vellum square:

I used adhesive on the back of the vellum square, behind the lily, and then adhered to the middle of the DSP base layer. The layered sentiment is adhered with a dimensional onto the DSP base layer:

This completed piece is adhered to a Coastal Cabana cardstock card base, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½”:

For the inside, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼” and adhere the ¾” x 4” strip of DSP along the bottom:

Isn’t this a super cute “all occasions” card?? I left the inside sentiment out so that I now will have six cards readily available to send out! Yes, the lily, leaves, and lily pad are a little time consuming because of the coloring and die cutting, but honestly, if you have a couple hours just to sit down and let your creativity flow, or even break it up over a few days, this is a great way to use up all these awesome products and send out beautiful cards for any occasion or reason!
