Hello and welcome to today’s blog post, which is my final Halloween card of the season featuring the Scary Cute Bundle! Since Halloween is a little over two weeks away, it is time to wrap things up and start getting these super cute cards that I have been sharing with you out in the mail. I will admit that I was out of ideas for my last Halloween card, I debated with creating another card with the Scary Cute Bundle, so I did a little perusing for inspiration from the July – December Mini Catalog and the SAB Catalog to see if something inspired me. Since I still have some of the Silver & Gold 6” x 6” DSP from SAB, and specifically a 2” x 5 ¼” piece, I decided to create this last card with a couple of ideas, using a Blending Brush and ink to make a gradient strip and to use the simple little trick I learned to stamp an image evenly across a background repeatedly with my Stamparatus. To top off the Halloween design, I used the Mango Melody, Gorgeous Grape, and Parakeet Party color combination for a super fun look!
The base layer for the card front is Mango Melody cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”. To stamp the image evenly across the cardstock, I positioned the stamp at the bottom right corner, inked the stamp with Mango Melody ink to stamp on the cardstock (I had to ink and stamp twice), moved the cardstock down 1”, and repeated the inking, stamping, and moving process to the top of the cardstock base layer. To complete the left side of the cardstock base layer, I moved the cardstock over 2” to the right and repeated the process. I measured the stamp, which is 2” long and 1” tall, so that is how I knew that I could fit this perfectly across the cardstock and have a little bit of wiggle room along the top and bottom:
For the rest of the card front, you will need:
1. From Basic Black cardstock, use the top layering detailed die to die-cut out and cut a ½” x 2” strip, heat emboss the sentiment with White Embossing Powder, and flag the left end with the Banners Pick a Punch.
2. Use the bottom layering die to die-cut from Parakeet Party cardstock and use your Stamparatus to stamp the character in Garden Green ink.
3. Cut a 2” piece of the White Frayed Ribbon and pull the ribbon along the end off to give it a frayed look.
4. Cut a 5” piece of the Metallic Meshed Ribbon.
5. Use a 2” x 5 ¼” piece of the silver dot design from the Silver & Gold 6’ x 6” DSP (retired) and use a Blending Brush with Gorgeous Grape ink to give it a gradient look.
Using liquid glue, adhere the Basic Black die-cut to the Parakeet Party die-cut and adhere the embossed sentiment strip to the frayed ribbon. I then adhered the 2” piece of DSP to the middle of the cardstock base layer, and the Metallic Mesh Ribbon slightly askew on top of the DSP. Since I knew that I was going to adhere the layered die-cut slightly askew over the ribbon, I just placed it on top of that ribbon, used liquid glue to adhere the layered sentiment to the bottom left corner (so it would be straight even though the layered die-cut would be slightly askew), and then used dimensionals to adhere the layered die-cut over the ribbon. This completed piece is adhered to a Basic Black cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”:
For the inside, cut a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of Basic White cardstock, ink the sentiment in Mango Melody ink and use a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to color “boo “to stamp on the cardstock and use your Stamparatus to stamp the character with Garden Green ink in the bottom corner:
For the coordinating Basic White Medium Envelope, use your Stamparatus to stamp the character in Garden Green ink in the corner as shown:
And now folks, our Halloween cards are done and ready to be mailed or handed out!
