Mix it up Monday!

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which feature’s products from the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog to create this fun “underwater scenery” card! The background design is from the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper, which my first thought was that this would be perfect for some sort of water scenery and maybe it would work with the Sea of Textures stamp set, but that was of course when the catalog first launched and I was more excited to play with “all the new stuff”! While it is so easy to get all wrapped up in creativity with new products, I’m trying to find that balance between the Mini and Annual Catalogs to create and inspire because before you know it the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog will be here!

The base layer is this design from the Perennial Essence DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:

I used these four stamps from the Sea of Textures stamp set to heat emboss them in White Embossing Powder:

For the card front, you will also need:

1. A 4” x 5 ¼” piece of Old Olive Foil Sheet, from the Noble Peacock Foil Sheets, and use the second largest layering Stitched Rectangle Die to cut out the middle.

2. Stamp the sentiment on Whisper White cardstock in Garden Green ink and use the Classic Label Punch to cut out.

3. Use the Old Olive and So Saffron vellum sheets from the Perennial Essence Vellum Cardstock to cut out with the sea grass and coral dies from Under the Sea Dies.

I used the Fine Tip Glue Pen to adhere the coral and sea grass to the DSP, using the foil frame as a guide for placement so that the frame will cover the glue at the bottom of the coral and sea grass:

I used liquid glue to adhere the foil frame to the DSP, trimmed off any excess DSP sticking out from the foil frame, and adhered the sentiment with mini dimensionals:

This completed piece is adhered to a Garden Green cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

For the inside, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment from Colorful Seasons in Garden Green ink and I used So Saffron, Old Olive, and Garden Green inks to stamp the seaweed and background stamps along the bottom:

Isn’t this a super cool card?? I just love the effect of the embossed images on the card front with the foil and vellum! I chose the sentiment from Colorful Seasons because I thought it tied in nicely with the card front and is versatile so that you could use this card for a few different occasions.
