Hello and welcome to the Stamp It Group’s Summer Theme Blog Hop! My name is Christina Miller, I am located in Norfolk Virginia, and you are visiting my blog, Christina’s Creative Corner! Whether this is your first stop on the blog hop or have hopped on over from another site, thank you for letting me share my creations today! Let’s get started!
Today I am sharing a quick scrapbook page and a bonus card I made using pictures from my recent vacation to the Outer Banks in North Carolina. My husband and I vacation twice a year with family and close friends, but this vacation was extra special for me! Not only was my younger son, who is stationed in Hawaii, and my older son, who is stationed in Maryland with his family, were able to come at the same time, but my beautiful mother, who lives in Oregon, was able to come out. This was her first “real vacation” since my step-father passed nearly two years ago and having us all under one roof for a whole week was truly a blessing.
Since this was a beach vacation, I just knew that products from the new
Come Sail Away Suite and the Under the Sea Framelits Dies would be perfect for this scrapbook page! I first chose a few pictures to have printed in the 2” x 3” size and then chose these four 3” x 4” cards to layer with the pictures:

The picture of the lighthouse is layered on one of the cards, I notched the corners with my ½” Circle Punch, and the other pictures are layered on Night of Navy and Seaside Spray cardstock, cut at 2 ¼” x 3 ¼”:

To create the sand dollar and starfish accents, I used a sponge with Crumb Cake ink to lightly dab on Whisper White cardstock and spritzed with Champagne Shimmer Paint using a Stampin’ Spritzer mixed with the paint and rubbing alcohol. I then used both dies from the Under the Sea Framelits to cut out three of each:

I used the seagrass die from Smooth Sailing and the coral die from Under the Sea to cut out one each in Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, and Mossy Meadow cardstock:

The final accent pieces are the rope and knot die from Smooth Sailing in Soft Suede cardstock and the net die from Under the Sea in Crumb Cake cardstock:

From the Come Sail Away DSP, I chose the striped balmy blue design for my 12” x 12” scrapbook page. I first arranged the pictures to my liking, added the die cut accent pieces, and then took a picture to refer back to as I assembled the scrapbook page:

Since I had a 4” x 6” picture of my mother and I, I thought I would make an easel card to send her as a happy reminder from her trip! I started with a 5 ½” x 8 ½” piece of Balmy Blue cardstock for the card base, scoring at 4 ¼”, and again at 2 1/8”:

I cut another piece of Balmy Blue cardstock at 4 ¼” x 5 ½” and used this design from the Come Sail Away DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:

Since I trimmed the picture down to 3 ¾” x 5”, I cut a piece of Night of Navy cardstock to the same size and used the 2ndlargest mat die from the Rectangle Stitched Framelits to create the “frame” for the picture, used the same technique from the scrapbook page to create the sand dollar, and used the grass die from Smooth Sailing to cut out of Sahara Sand cardstock, brushing the whole piece with Wink of Stella:

I adhered the Night of Navy frame to the picture using my Fine Tip Glue Pen and adhered this to the DSP with dimensionals:

The sand dollar and sea grass are adhered with glue dots and the completed piece is adhered to the Balmy Blue cardstock base layer:

I burnished my score lines with my bone folder and applied adhesive to the bottom scored cardstock:

For the inside, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, adhere a ¾” x 5 ¼” piece of the same DSP from the card front to the bottom edge of the cardstock, the sentiment from Itty Bitty Greeting is heat embossed in Silver Emboss Powder on a piece of Night of Navy cardstock, cut out with the banner die from Smooth Sailing, and adhered with mini dimensionals:
