Sunshine and Rainbows

Today I wanted to make a card for a certain someone and to let them know I’m thinking of them and I thought the Sunshine and Rainbows stamp set with the Rainbow Builder Framelits Dies would be perfect! Once I figured how I wanted to create this card, it was so easy to make with the Big Shot.

I first started with a piece of Marina Mist cut at 8 ½” x 5 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”. I used a piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock, cut at 5 ¼” x 4”, and used the larger cloud die to create the upper clouds. The bottom clouds are a piece of the iridescent glimmer paper from the Myths & Magic Suite, cut at 1” x 5 ¼”, using the smaller cloud die. I wanted to go a little lighter for the colors of the rainbow since the base is in Marina Mist, so I went with Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, Daffodil Delight, Lemon-Lime Twist, Tempting Turquoise, and Sweet Sugarplum cardstock. (Helpful Hint-I numbered the rainbow dies 1-7 to keep track and make sure I’m using the right die for the right color. J) The gray clouds are made from Vellum cardstock that I sponged Basic Gray Archival Ink with a Sponge Dauber, and used the cloud framelit (make sure to let this dry completely or you will get ink on other pieces). Of course, you have to have some sunshine in order to create the rainbow, so I used Crushed Curry cardstock with the sun framelit.

I used the Fine Tip Glue Pen to adhere the rainbow pieces and the Vellum clouds to the Thick Whisper White cardstock, Stampin’ Dimensionals for the Glimmer Paper and the sun, the glitter raindrops from the Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes, and then stamped my sentiment in Marina Mist.
