New Catalog Blog Hop!

Hello and welcome to the Stamp It Group’s New Catalog Blog Hop! My name is Christina Miller, I am located in Norfolk, Virginia, and you are visiting my blog, Christina’s Creative Corner! Whether this is your first stop on the blog hop or have hopped over from another site, thank you for letting me share my creation with you today. Let’s get started!

I first have to say that this card was really a labor of love for me because as much as I love the Butterfly Wishes stamp set, I was bound and determined to figure out another way to add some color to the stamped images. After experimenting on Whisper White and Very Vanilla cardstock with Early Espresso ink, I added color with Stampin’ Blends and was surprised at the results, the Early Espresso ink did not bleed! I even stamped off once before coloring with the Stampin’ Blends and had the same results.

To start, I first used the largest Stitched Nested Labels to cut out of Whisper White cardstock. I stamped the large butterfly in Early Espresso ink, figured out where I wanted the branch placement, and then stamped that in Early Espresso ink (the branch is a little dark, you can stamp off once if you want it lighter):

I colored in the butterfly and flowers with Light Rococo Rose Stampin’ Blends, the leaves with Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends, and made some stamen lines with the Dark Rococo Rose Stampin’ Blends:

The base layer is Blackberry Bliss cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and embossed with the Brick & Mortar 3D Folder, you will use the debossed side:

Additionally for the card front, you will use this design from the 2019-2021 6” x 6” DSP, cut at 3” x 5 ¼”, Rose Metallic Thread, and stamp the butterfly with Early Espresso ink on Whisper White cardstock, color with the Light and Dark Rococo Rose Stampin’ Blends, and punch out with the Butterfly Duet Punch:

I wrapped the Rose Metallic Thread around the middle of the DSP several times, adhering the ends to the back of the DSP:

The Stitched Nested Label piece is adhered to the middle of the DSP and then this is adhered to the embossed base layer (debossed side):

This is then adhered to a Blackberry Bliss cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”. I curled the butterfly wings with my bone folder, adhered it with a mini dimensional, and added three of the rectangle shaped Petal Pink Rhinestone Gems:

The inside is Whisper White cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, the sentiment is stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink, and the butterfly is stamped in Early Espresso ink, colored with the Light and Dark Rococo Rose Stampin’ Blends:

Fun and easy card to make! Again, these are my results that I’m sharing with you, you can always stamp off once before coloring and I even tried Pineapple Punch, Mango Melody, and Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends. While not all of my “idea’s” work out, I really do like the results of this!

Let’s Celebrate with Cake!

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which feature’s the new stamp set, Celebrate with Cake! If this stamp set doesn’t quite look familiar, that’s because you cannot find it in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog. Wait, what?? That’s right, you can only find this stamp set in the online store as part of the Experience Creativity Projects. If you are new to stamping, this is a great way to start small and not feel so overwhelmed with trying to figure out where to begin! Celebrate with Cake is a super cute stamp set and so easy to create with!

To begin, cut a piece of Merry Merlot cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, two of the corners are punched with the Detailed Trio Punch, and then is embossed with the Subtle DTIEF (this folder is from the previous catalog and not the new 3D folder):

The next layer is from the 2019-2021 In Color 6” x 6” DSP in Rococo Rose, first cut 1 ½” off one side, turn, and then cut in half at 3”. This will give you two pieces at 3” x 4 ½” and then cut the strip in half, giving you two pieces at ¾” x 6”:

For the card front you will need one piece of the DSP, on Shimmery White cardstock, stamp the cake in Merry Merlot ink, the candle in Sahara Sand and Daffodil Delight inks, cut out with the fourth largest Stitched Nested Labels, stamp the sentiment in Rococo Rose ink on Shimmery White cardstock, punch out with the 1 1/8” Scallop Circle Punch, use the 1 3/8” Scallop Circle Punch on Silver Foil Sheet to layer under the sentiment, and enough Rose Metallic Thread for under the stamped cake piece:

Adhere the DSP to the embossed cardstock at an angle, adhere the metallic thread to the back of the shimmery cardstock, and then adhere this to the DSP with dimensionals:

The sentiment is layered on the silver foil sheet, adhered with dimensionals, and the base layer is adhered to a Sahara Sand cardstock card base, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½”. I wanted to give this card a little bling, so I used three of the largest Petal Pink Rhinestone Gems:

The inside is Whisper White cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, the balloons are stamped in Sahara Sand ink, the party hat is stamped in Merry Merlot ink, the sentiment is stamped on Whisper White cardstock in Merry Merlot ink, fussy cut out and adhered with dimensionals, and the ¾” x 6” piece of DSP is adhered along the bottom, trimming off the excess:

Don’t you just love this color combo of Rococo Rose, Merry Merlot, and Sahara Sand?? A great way to “play with” the new 2019-2021 In Colors is with the 6” x 6” DSP and have fun creating different color combinations. You can even just keep it simple and pair the DSP with the same color cardstock.

A different kind of Valentine’s Day card

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is an alternative card made for Valentine’s Day! While I’ve made several Valentine’s cards to inspire you from the Occasion’s Catalog, I thought my final card this week would be something “outside the box”! Whether hearts and flowers are not really your thing or maybe you only make one card for Valentine’s Day, I put on my “creative cap” to find a set from the current Annual Catalog. I first thought about Animal Outing, which would be perfect since this month’s Paper Pumpkin coordinates with Animal Outing, but then I thought about Little Twinkle and thought the sentiment would be perfect! Add a little heat embossing, Rose Glimmer Paper, and Petal Pink Rhinestone Gems…you get a super cute Valentine’s Day card!

The DSP used for this card is from the Twinkle Twinkle DSP, the base layer is 4” x 5 ¼” and the next layer is 3 ½” x 4 ¾”:

For the card front, you will need two of the largest Petal Pink Rhinestone Gems (hexagon shape), another piece of the DSP big enough to heat emboss the sentiment in Silver Emboss Powder and cut out with the 3rdsmallest Rectangle Stitched Framelits, and use the Twinkle Builder Punch for the moon, two of each size stars, and one dot from Rose Glimmer Paper:

To assemble the card front, layer and adhere the two pieces of DSP together, adhere the moon to the sentiment, use the Take Your Pick Tool to help pick up and adhere the stars and dot with the Fine Tip Glue Pen, and then place the gems. This is then adhered to the card base, which is Whisper White cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

For the inside, I used a sponge dauber with Night of Navy ink to sponge the moon with a mask I created from old cardstock and the punch and then heat embossed the stars and dot stamp in Silver Emboss Powder. **If you have the Spooky Sweets stamp set, you can always use the moon from that instead of masking**:

Isn’t this a great card?? You can easily use the Twinkle Twinkle Suite to create your cards, just change up the colors used! Have a retired heart punch or die set? Substitute the stars for hearts!

Birthday card with bling!

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a fun birthday card with lots of bling! Rose Glimmer Paper, Rose Metallic Thread, and Petal Pink Rhinestone Gems are the perfect elements to make any card shine! This is also a great way to use any scraps of DSP that you may have or to make multiples just cut a 2” strip of DSP and then cut that down into 2” x 2” squares.

The card base is Crumb Cake cardstock, cut to 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

The base layer is this design from the Petal Promenade DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:

For the card front, you will need some Petal Pink Metallic Rhinestones, Rose Metallic Thread, a 2” x 2” piece of Petal Promenade DSP, use the fourth largest scalloped square from the Layering Squares Framelits, and stamp the sentiment from Happy Birthday Gorgeous on a piece of Whisper White cardstock in Crumb Cake ink, punching out with the Classic Label Punch. Tip-You can always use the fifth largest square from the Layering Squares Framelits instead, the glimmer paper will cover that up:

To assemble the front, use liquid glue to adhere the DSP to the glimmer paper and adhere the sentiment with Mini Dimensionals. I wrapped the metallic thread several times around the base layer, placing some adhesive on the back to keep the ends in place:

The base layer is adhered to the card base, the layered squares are adhered with dimensionals, and then I added one of each shape of the rhinestone gems:

The inside sentiment is on a piece of 4” x 5 ¼” Whisper White cardstock and stamped in Blushing Bride and Crumb Cake inks, which are from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set:

Another fun and easy card that your recipient will surely love! One more helpful tip, if you are mailing this card, I place a piece of printer paper over the front to help the envelope and card from being damaged in the mailing process!
