Floral Essence with Flowering Foils Designer Series Paper!

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which features the new Flowering Foils Designer Series Paper! This beautiful Rose Gold and Silver Foil DSP is part of the second release of Sale-A-Bration products that you can earn with a qualifying $50 (USD) purchase starting tomorrow, March 3rd! To color or not to color with this beautiful foil DSP is up to you! I chose to sponge color this DSP, creating a gradient effect with Merry Merlot, Rococo Rose, and Petal Pink, and pair it with the Floral Essence stamp set from the Annual Catalog!

For the base layer, use this design from the Flowering Foils DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”. I first started sponge coloring with Merry Merlot at the bottom, Rococo Rose in the middle, and Petal Pink at the top (the DSP on the left is to show you how it looks before). Since this paper is thin like a regular designer series paper, be careful coloring and you may need to hold the ends down with your fingers:

For the card front, you will need:

1. Enough Petal Pink Metallic Edge Ribbon to tie around the base layer into a bow or cut a 4 ½” strip to adhere across the middle of the DSP and tie a bow separately, use a glue dot to adhere.

2. On Petal Pink cardstock, stamp the flower in Rococo Rose and Merry Merlot inks three times each, use to coordinating punch to punch out of the cardstock, and on one of the flowers in each color, punch out the middle with the ½” Circle Punch.

3. Stamp the sentiment in Merry Merlot ink on Very Vanilla cardstock and use the fourth largest Stitched Nested Label Die to custom cut out*.

4. Use the third largest Stitched Nested Label Die to custom cut out a layering piece for the sentiment*.

*To custom cut using the Stitched Nested Label Die, I first lined up the sentiment with the die, only cut about half way down, and then lined up the bottom and finished cutting out. For the Merry Merlot cardstock piece, I used the sentiment piece as a guide for how big or long I wanted it to be, using the same way to cut out:

For the flowers, I used liquid glue in the middle to adhere them slightly off, which gave me a moment to adjust them as needed. I then used a mini glue dot on the bottom edge of the punched-out petal to fill in on the back side. When done, use your bone folder to curl the petal edges and place the largest Clear Faceted Gem in the flower center:

To assemble the card, first adhere/tie your ribbon, use dimensionals to adhere the layered sentiment over the ribbon, and then use liquid glue to adhere the flowers:

This completed piece is then adhered to a Merry Merlot cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”:

For the inside, cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment in Merry Merlot ink, and adhere a ¾” x 4” piece of DSP along the bottom that has been sponge colored with Merry Merlot ink:

Here’s a sneak peek at the DSP, it comes in four designs, three sheets of each design, for a total of 12 sheets of DSP:

Isn’t this beautiful DSP?? I just love the Silver and Rose Gold! Whether you color this paper or not, it is so easy to create stunning cards! If you want to make a quick and easy card, you can layer this DSP with color cardstock, punch out a sentiment and have a color layer under the sentiment, and add an embellishment and/or ribbon!

Birthday card for the fashionista!

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a super cute birthday card for that fashionista in your life! If you missed it, the Best Dressed Suite in the 2020 Mini Catalog is a super cute suite that I think of as “for the girly girl”, you know, they like makeup, shoes, purses…all the fun stuff! And yes, that includes me! Lol However, I thought I would show you an easy, fun, and cute card to make with the Best Dressed 6” x 6” DSP. I’m all about making easy cards and using up my DSP and since this DSP has 4 each of 12 double sided designs, I am using this particular design to make four cards that will be ready to address and send out as needed!

For the base layer, you will use this design from the Best Dressed DSP. I first cut a ¾” strip along the bottom and then turned the DSP 90 degrees and cut at 4”. The base layer is the 4” x 5 ¼” and then you will also have a ¾” x 6” and a 2” x 5 ¼” strips of DSP left over:

For the card front, you will need:

1. Use the swirl die from Painted Labels to cut out of Purple Posy cardstock.

2. Stamp the sentiment from Peaceful Moments on Whisper White cardstock in Blackberry Bliss ink and cut out with the smaller label die from Painted Labels.

3. Cut enough of the Petal Pink Metallic Edge Ribbon to tie around the DSP layer into a bow.

4. You will also need three of the 3mm Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

To assemble the card, adhere the sentiment to the Purple Posy swirl cut out cardstock, use dimensionals to attach to the DSP base layer, tie the ribbon around the DSP into a bow, and then use the Take Your Pick Tool to attach the rhinestones:

This completed piece is adhered to a Purple Posy cardstock card base, cut at 4 ¼” x 11” and scored at 5 ½”:

For the inside, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment in Blackberry Bliss ink, and adhere the ¾” strip along the bottom, trimming off the excess:

For the 2” x 5 ¼” piece of DSP, I use this die from the Beautiful Layers Dies to cut it so the DSP can be adhered to the envelope flap:

This card is so cut and soooo easy to make!! Whether it’s stamps or DSP, I always try to decorate the envelope because you have this super cut card and you don’t want to send it in a plain envelope! j/k I usually stamp something small, but when it comes to 6” x 6” DSP, this is my “go to” for using up all the DSP!

New products from the Mini Catalog!

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which I’m taking a short pause from Christmas crafting to share with you some NEW products from the upcoming 2020 Mini Catalog! Stampin’ Up! may have changed the name of the Occasions Catalog to the Mini Catalog, changed the layout of the Mini Catalog, but they have not changed the AMAZING products you will find! I was one of the few lucky people that were chosen to be given this beautiful new background stamp set, Breathtaking Bouquet. This was actually an “extra stamp set” that was part of a Prize Patrol from OnStage, and the Prize Patrol winner was to give this stamp set to a complete stranger. I thought what better way to honor this random act of kindness, than to create a beautiful card to share with you and to try out the “whitewash technique”!

The base layer is Sahara Sand cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the background stamp in Versamark ink, and heat emboss with White Embossing Powder:

Since there is a lot of detail with this stamp, I first used my Aqua Painter with Whisper White Craft Ink on the flowers and then used my Aqua Painter with Petal Pink and Lovely Lipstick inks. Tip-you can clean the craft ink off the aqua painter by squeezing the water out of the brush onto a paper towel. You can also “lift” the ink directly from the ink pad to color the flowers. I repeated the process with the leaves and colored them with Granny Apple Green ink:

For the rest of the card front you will need:

1. Enough Petal Pink Metallic-Edge Ribbon to tie into a bow around the base layer.

2. Stamp the sentiment from Peaceful Moments in Lovely Lipstick ink on Whisper White cardstock, punch out with the Tailored Tag Punch.

3. Punch another Tailored Tag piece from Crumb Cake cardstock to layer under the sentiment.

To assemble the card:

1. Tie the ribbon into a bow around the lower portion of the base layer.

2. Adhere the base layer to a Crumb Cake cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”, with dimensionals.

3. Trim the sentiment piece down slightly with paper snips, adhere to the Crumb Cake cardstock layering piece, and then adhere over the ribbon with dimensionals.

4. I added a Rhinestone Basic Jewel to the center of three flowers.

For the inside, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼” and stamp the sentiment in Lovely Lipstick ink:

Isn’t this a beautiful background stamp? Whether you want to color this in or not, this is a beautiful stamp to make as your feature on a card, just a sentiment! How about that ribbon?? It is actually a champagne metallic edge and there are also Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels to coordinate! This is part of the Parian Blossoms Suite from the Mini Catalog!!
