Add a little sparkle to your Mother’s Day card!

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a beautiful Mother’s Day card with some added sparkle! While this card has a poppy theme, you can easily personalize it with the Hand-Lettered Prose Dies! Mom? Grandma? Nana? Meme? Mother? I specifically left room so that you can use the dies for whom you are sending this card to! There are times that we want to make “that extra special” card and Mother’s Day is one of those occasions!

The base layer for this card is Basic Black cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:

The next layer is this design from the Peaceful Poppies DSP (this is the front and back) cut at 3 ¾” x 5”. Along the 3 ¾” side, you will want to cut at 2”, giving you one piece at 2” x 5” and the other at 1 ¾” x 5”, the 1 ¾” x 5” is the bottom or the striped design of the DSP:

For the rest of the card front, you will need:

1. A 5” piece of Braided Burlap Trim.

2. Use the Hand-Lettered Prose Dies to cut the name from Silver Glimmer Paper. For this card, I used “mom”.

3. Use Old Olive cardstock to stamp the leaf from Painted Poppies stamp set in Mossy Meadow ink four times and cut out with the coordinating dies.

4. Use the smaller poppy solid die from Poppy Moments Die to cut out two pieces from Blackberry Bliss cardstock.

5. Use the coordinating outline die and the smaller stamen die from the set to cut out two of each from Basic Black cardstock. You can use the base layer cardstock for this (keep it towards the middle of the cardstock) as the DSP will cover this.

I used my Fine Tip Glue Pen to adhere the Basic Black outline and stamen piece to the Blackberry Bliss solid base and since I had some “glue smudges” on the Blackberry Bliss cardstock, I used my Wink of Stella Pen to hide that. I adhered two leaves to the back one poppy as shown:

I adhered the DSP layer to the base layer and adhered the Braided Ribbon Trim with Tear & Tape across the cutline:

I placed dimensionals on each side of the Braided Linen Trim to adhere the poppies to the card front:

I tried something different to adhere the die cut letter, Foam Adhesive Strip! I found this easier than cutting down mini dimensionals, place it on the thicker sides of the letter “m” and the thicker part of the letter “o”:

This completed piece is adhered to a Thick Whisper White cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

For the inside, I cut a piece of Basic Black cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 3 ¾” x 5” to adhere on top, a ¾” x 4” strip of coordinating DSP along the side, and stamped the sentiment from Butterfly Wishes in Blackberry Bliss ink:

Isn’t this a beautiful card?? You could even use this card layout for other occasions, change the DSP and/or colors, and add a sentiment on the front instead of die cut letters!
