Hello and welcome to today’s blog post, which is a fun and easy card featuring the Paradise Palms Bundle with the Expressions in Ink 12” x 12” DSP! Whether it’s gearing up for the warmer weather with Spring just right around the corner or “wishful thinking” for warmer weather, the Paradise Palms Bundle is for you! I paired this bundle with the Expressions in Ink DSP because I love the “gold veining” with some of the designs and wanted to show how easy you can make this beautiful card with a couple of die-cuts, heat embossing, and embellishments!
The base layer is this design from the Expressions in Ink DSP, which I cut down into six base layers and six strips for the inside of the card. I first cut a 4” x 12” piece and since the colored design of the DSP is in the middle, I cut a ¾” x 4” strip off each end and will use the reverse side for the inside of the card, and then cut the 4” x 10 ½” piece in half along the 10 ½” side at 5 ¼”. The colored design will be the bottom and I heat embossed the sentiment with Gold Embossing Powder as shown:
For the rest of the card front, you will need:
1. Use the single palm tree die to die-cut from a piece of Gold Foil Sheet.
2. Use the grass die to die-cut from Shaded Spruce cardstock.
3. You will need one of each color of Faux Sea Glass Shapes, not pictured.
I used liquid glue to adhere the die-cut palm tree and grass to the DSP base layer and placed the three Faux Sea Glass Shapes as shown by the heat embossed sentiment. This completed piece is adhered to a Mint Macaron cardstock card base, cut at 4 ¼” x 11” and scored at 5 ½”:
For the inside, cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment in Shaded Spruce ink, and adhere the ¾” x 4” strip of DSP along the bottom:
For the coordinating envelope, stamp the straight trunk in Crumb Cake ink, the smaller leaf stamp in Pear Pizzazz in two times, and the coconuts stamp in Early Espresso ink:
I just love how this card turned out, it was super easy! Not only is this a great way to use up a whole sheet of DSP, but now you have six cards and coordinating envelopes ready to use for any occasion! The Expression in Ink DSP kind of reminds me of the New Horizons 6” x 6” DSP a little bit, so I may try pairing this bundle with it for a future card design!
