Hello and welcome to today’s blog post, which is a super quick and easy card to wrap up my Christmas card making season! Just like making a list and checking it twice (lol), making cards and counting them twice is a must! However, what about those unexpected cards that you need last minute? Inevitably, I find that I will need a few more last-minute cards and this card is perfect! Not only is it easy to make, but it will also use one sheet of DSP to make six cards, a bit of ribbon, embellishments, a punch, and the all-time favorite Layering Circle Dies. Want to make this even easier? If you have some of the now retired circle punches, you can use those instead!
The base layer for the card front is this design from the Painted Christmas DSP, cut into six 4” x 5 ¼” base layers and six ¾” x 4” strips for the inside of the card:
For the rest of the card front, you will need:
1. About 6” – 7” of White Frayed Ribbon.
2. Use the Decorative Label Punch to punch out of Cherry Cobbler cardstock.
3. Use the fourth from the largest Layering Circle Die to die-cut from Evening Evergreen cardstock.
4. On Basic White cardstock, stamp the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink and use the fifth from the largest Layering Circle Die to die-cut out.
5. You will need two of the Gold Holly Leaves.
6. You will need three of the gold Festive Pearls, not pictured.
I first adhered the Gold Holly Leaves to the back of the small circle sentiment die-cut, then layered on the Evening Evergreen and Cherry Cobbler cardstock circles, adhered the White Frayed Ribbon across the DSP base layer (adhering the ends to the back side), use mini dimensionals to adhere the layered circle sentiment over the ribbon, place the three gold Festive Pearls on the ribbon as shown, and then adhered this completed piece to a Cherry Cobbler cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”:
For the inside, cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment in Evening Evergreen ink, and adhere the ¾” x 4” strip of DSP on the left side as shown:
For the coordinating Basic White Medium Envelope, use the pine tree leaf stamp to stamp in the bottom corner three consecutive times in Evening Evergreen ink:
Such a quick and easy card!! This is also a great card layout for any occasion, especially for your pretty DSP. I had previously mentioned using circle punches, you could use the 1 ¾” for the sentiment (it will be a little close) and 2” for the second layer, but that’s if you use the Decorative Circle Punch. I did compare the 2” for the sentiment and 2 ¼” for the second layer, but the 2 ¼” is too close to the Decorative Circle Punch.
