Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a great card featuring the Nature’s Poem Suite! This really is a perfect greeting for just about any occasion. I am happy to say that except for the Designer Series Paper and the cardstock pack, this suite is carrying over to the new catalog! This really is beautiful and versatile designer series paper and I will be sad to see it go at the end of this catalog!
One of my favorite things to do with the tree trunk from the stamp set is to color it with daubers and then fussy cut it out. I first use a sponge dauber with Crumb Cake ink and color it all over, I then use another sponge dauber with Soft Suede ink around the outside of the tree trunk, and finally use my snips to cut out. After this, I use the sponge dauber with Soft Suede ink and go around the edge, which not only blends into the stamped image, but hides any mistakes you made. For today’s card, I stamped the sentiment with Versamark and heat embossed White Embossing Powder:
Additionally for the front of the card, you will need this design from the DSP cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, a 1” x 4” piece of Copper Foil Sheet embossed with the Climbing Vine TIEF, one of the copper Leaves Trinkets, and I created this little “knot” with the Nature’s Twine by “folding” the twine over about three times, tied the end piece around the middle into a knot, cut the end piece apart, and then then just used my finger tips to fray the ends:
To assemble the card front, I first adhered the embossed Copper Foil Sheet, adhered the sentiment piece with dimensionals, adhered the knotted twine and the trinket with glue dots:
This piece is then adhered to a 5 ½” x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”, Tranquil Tide cardstock card base:
For the inside, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼” and then I adhered a ¾” x 4” piece of the DSP along the side. Typically, when you cut DSP you will have a 1 ½” x 4” piece left over and I will cut that in half so I have two pieces to use for the inside of my card:
Wasn’t this a fun and easy card to make? I chose to leave the inside blank, then this way I can use it for any reason, just have to stamp the sentiment! As I am writing, the DSP and cardstock pack are still available from my online store, but this will be only while supplies last since they are on the retirement list. The stamp set, dies, twine, and trinkets are carrying over into the new catalog, however, the discounted bundle for the stamp and dies are not.
