Hello and welcome to a new week and a new suite! This week I am (finally!) getting creative with the Myths & Magic Suite from the 2018 Occasions Catalog. When I first saw this suite in the catalog, I just loved it! I could see all the possibilities with this and not just for little kids, which brings us to today’s card, a Double Z Fold card for my daughter-in-law’s birthday. What do you think?
The base for this card is in Thick Whisper White card stock, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, scored at 5 ½” and 2 ¾”. The base layers are from the Myths & Magic Specialty Designer Series Paper, one piece cut at 4 x 5 ¼” and then two pieces cut at 4” x 2 ½”. The dragon, fire, wizard, knight, unicorn, and princess are all stamped in Memento Ink, colored in with Stampin’ Blends, and cut out with the coordinating Magical Mates Framelits Dies, the princess is really the mermaid with the tail snipped off to fit.
The castle is made with Smokey Slate card stock, cut at 5 ¼” x 3”, run thru the Big Shot with the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, and then sponge Basic Gray ink with a Sponge Dauber to give the brick wall depth. The Classic Label Punch and the Layering Squares Framelits were used to create the top of the castle and the door was created from the Wood Textures DSP with the Layering Ovals Framelits, a Black Rhinestone Jewels for the doorknobs. The leaves and stars are cut out from the Myths & Magic 6” x 6” Glimmer Paper with the coordinating framelits and the crystal ball is a Clear Faceted Gem. The sentiment is stamped in coordinating colors using the Stampin’ Write Markers on a piece of Whisper White card stock with each end cut with the Banner Triple Punch.
