Castle Easel Card

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is part 5 of Myths & Magic Suite Week! For this week’s final card, I thought I would create a castle scene with an Easel Card! It’s been a while since I made an Easel Card, but I thought this would be fun to make into a castle scene! If you’ve never made an Easel Card, it’s actually very easy to make and it can be for any occasion.

The card base is Thich Whisper White cardstock, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 2 ¾” and at 5 ½”:

After you burnish the score lines, the card will look like this:

The base layer is from the Myths & Magic Specialty DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:

I cut a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock to 3” x 4” and embossed this with the Brick Wall Embossing Folder, adding Smoky Slate ink to the embossing folder first. The top of the castle is DSP cut at 1 ½” x 4”, using the Classic Label Punch, and the “drawbridge” is a piece of Wood Textures DSP Stack, cut out with the 3rdsmallest Layering Squares Framelit:

On a piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the dragon, flame, knight, and mermaid in Memento ink. These are colored in with Light Lovely Lipstick, Ivory, Light Cherry Cobbler, Light Pumpkin Pie, Dark Crumb Cake, Light & Dark Old Olive, Light & Dark Daffodil Delight, Light & Dark Night of Navy, Light & Dark Smoky Slate, and the Color Lifter from the Stampin’ Blends. These are then cut out with the coordinating framelits, I snipped the mermaid’s tail off because she will be a princess in this scene:

I adhered the embossed cardstock and the DSP together and placed the princess peeking out from up top:

The drawbridge is attached and then I added Black Sequin Jewels at the top:

This piece is then adhered to the DSP base layer with dimensionals:

The dragon, fire, and knight are adhered with dimensionals:

I used the leaf framelits on the light green 6” x 6” Glimmer Paper and adhered these pieces with liquid glue:

I cut this design of DSP to 2 ½” x 4”:

On a piece of Whisper White cardstock, I stamped the sentiment in Lemon Lime Twist ink and then sponged Old Olive ink around the edge with a Sponge Dauber. This is then cut out with the 5thlarges oval from the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies and the leaves are adhered behind with liquid glue:

The base layer is adhered to the card base on the lower (or bottom) scored piece:

What would normally be the inside of the card, this piece of DSP is adhered to the lower bottom:

Then the sentiment is adhered to this piece with dimensionals:

You have room to write your sentiment above this or you have the backside, which is 4” x 5 ¼”!
