Hello and welcome to today’s blog post, which feature’s the pretty “painted” pattern Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper! Can you believe there are only NINE days left for the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog? That’s right, you only have until June 30th (or while supplies last) to order products that did not carry-over into the annual catalog. So, between now and the 30th, I will give you some of my “last push” of creative inspiration from these retiring products!
For the base layer, use this design from the Fine Art Floral DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and use the fourth from the smallest Layering Diorama Die to die-cut out from the middle of the DSP, but a little higher up towards the top of the DSP. For the die-cut piece out of the DSP, you will use the opposite side design. For the layer in-between the two pieces of DSP, cut a piece of the Rose Gold Metallic Specialty Paper at 3” x 4 ¼” and use the second from the smallest Layering Diorama Die to die-cut from the middle of the paper. Finally, you will adhere the Rose Gold die-cut paper to the back of the DSP and then the opposite design die-cut DSP to the back of the Rose Gold paper, as shown. This will be your completed base layer:
For the rest of the card front, you will need:
1. On Merry Merlot cardstock, heat emboss the sentiment from Inspired Thoughts in White Emboss Powder and die-cut out with the die from Tasteful Labels Dies.
2. On Basic White cardstock, stamp the small flower stamp from Art Gallery two times in Petal Pink and one time in So Saffron inks. Use the second-step stamp in Merry Merlot, Flirty Flamingo, and Bumblebee inks, then die-cut out with the coordinating Floral Gallery Die.
3. Use enough of the Mossy Meadow Braided Linen Trim to tie around the bottom of the DSP into a knot (I tie mine right off the spool).
You will adhere the three die-cut flowers behind the die-cut sentiment as shown, tie the linen trim around the DSP base layer towards the bottom, and adhere the sentiment over the linen trim with dimensionals. This completed piece is adhered to a Merry Merlot cardstock card base, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½”:
For the inside, cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment from Inspired Thoughts in Merry Merlot ink, and adhere a ¾” x 4” strip of the DSP along the bottom:
Now, if you are like me and don’t want to use ALL of your Rose Gold paper (after all, you only get 4 sheets of each in the pack and one sheet makes two cards), here is an alternative! You can substitute Gold Foil for the Rose Gold and after you die-cut the middle out, emboss with the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder:
Isn’t this a great way to not only use up your DSP, but also show both sides with the Layering Diorama Dies? I thought that using foil paper as a layer between the DSP layers works well and makes adhering the layers and die-cut easier. While I really like the Rose Gold, which is your favorite?
