Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a monochromatic bridge fold card featuring the Winter Woods Bundle, from the 2018 Holiday Catalog, in Gray Granite! This card is very easy to make and rather than using DSP for the panels, I first created the scenery on cardstock and then cut the pieces so you see the scenery from any angle. This looks super cool and is a fun card to send!
To start, cut a piece of Gray Granite cardstock at 4 ¼” x 8”, and score at 1 ¼”, 2 ½”, 5 ½”, and 6 ¾”. For the panel across the front, this is also Gray Granite cardstock, cut at 1 ¼” x 5 ½”:
Normally for the panels you would cut four pieces of DSP or cardstock at 1” x 4” and for the back panel one piece at 2 ¾” x 4”, however, I combined the measurements and cut one piece of Very Vanilla cardstock at 4” x 6 ¾”:
Using the hinge-set technique with the tree stamp from Winter Woods doesn’t work on the Stamparatus, however, I still used it as a guide for lining up my stamp. I used Gray Granite ink to stamp the trees twice:
To make the masks, I used the 1” circle punch for the sun and the Pretty Label Punch for the clouds. I sponged Gray Granite ink with a Stampin’ Sponge, moving the cloud mask down a little each time. Once I completed the clouds, I lightly sponge the middle and the sun and used the small ground stamp below the trees:
To create the panels, I cut the cardstock 1” (twice) from each end and this will give you the four 1” x 4” panels and the 2 ¾”x 4” back panel. I adhered these to the card base with adhesive:
For the die cut trees, I sponged Champagne Mist Shimmer paint on a piece of 3” x 4” Vellum cardstock, placed a piece of Sizzix Adhesive Sheet on the back, and then adhered to a piece of Gray Granite cardstock. This is then ran thru the Big Shot using the two tree framelits from the In the Woods Framelits Dies. Tip-due to the thickness of the papers, I highly recommend using the Precision Base Plate and run it through several times, back and forth:
For the front panel, I cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock at 1” x 5 ¼”, used the “hill” die from In the Woods to cut it, and flipped one side over to create a crisscross hill:
I adhered one of the pieces to the Gray Granite base and used Glue Dots to adhere the trees. I then stamped the pine cone stamp in Gray Granite ink, lightly sponged some Gray Granite ink on the Very Vanilla cardstock (whatever was already on the sponge), and attached the top hill layer with Mini Dimensionals:
To attach the front panel piece, I used two pieces of Tear & Tape on each end and then attached to the outer front panels:
For the back, I used a piece of 2 ¾” x 4” Very Vanilla cardstock and stamped the sentiment and pinecones in Gray Granite ink:
Isn’t that super cool and easy?? This really is a great card to make and just think of all the sceneries you can make! I just love the shimmer on the trees and yes, you could sponge the shimmer paint directly on the cardstock, but I wanted to give it a little bit more effect with the Vellum and it makes the trees a little bit sturdier!
