It’s all about the dies!

Hello and welcome to today’s blog post, which is a great tropical themed card featuring the Palm Dies from the Paradise Palms Bundle! While the Paradise Palms stamp set is a great way to create a scenery, but what about those fun coordinating Palm Dies? These are fun and easy way to take your cards up a notch and take a break from stamping! Don’t forget about the Linen 12” x 12” Specialty Paper from the Annual Catalog, this self-adhesive paper gives a different and unique texture, especially if you dry emboss it!

The base layer for the card front is a piece of the Linen Specialty Paper, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder:

For the rest of the card front, you will need:

1. Use the intricate die to die-cut from a piece of Gold Foil sheet.

2. Using this design from the New Horizons DSP, use the second largest Layering Circles Die to die cut out.

3. From Basic Black cardstock, use the trio palm trees dies to die-cut out.

4. From Evening Evergreen cardstock, use the palm leaf die to die-cut out two pieces.

5. You will need one of each color from the Pebbles Enamel Shapes, not pictured.

The card base is Crumb Cake cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”, which I removed the adhesive backing to adhere the embossed Linen Paper and used liquid glue to adhere the intricate gold foil die-cut across the Linen Paper (place a small dab in the very middle of each intricate die-cut and place an E Block on top for a few moments to properly adhere). I adhered the die-cut palm trees to the front of the die-cut circle DSP and the two die-cut palm leaves to the back, which is adhered over the intricate gold foil die-cut, and I placed one of each Pebbles Enamel Shapes as shown. I also used a dot of liquid glue to adhere the die-cut tree trunks to the Linen Paper:

For the inside, cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, use Memento ink to stamp the sentiment, palm trees, and ground and Pale Papaya ink to stamp the sun as shown:

For the coordinating Medium White Envelope, stamp the top half of the palm trees on the envelope using Memento ink:

Another great any occasions card! While I used the birthday sentiment from the stamp set, you can easily use any of the sentiments from the stamp set. On a side note, you can get four of the Layering Circles die-cuts from the one 6” x 6” piece of DSP, which means you have four of these cards and used up a sheet of DSP!!
