For me, holidays are a great time to make and send cards to family and friends to let them know I’m thinking of them. But let’s face it, if you have more than a handful of cards to make, it can be overwhelming! The card I am sharing with you today is a simple and beautiful card to make, but also so easy to make multiples of! This is a great way to use up your ribbon and designer series paper because the new annual catalog will be here before we know it, so let’s make some room for all those new goodies!! Lol
Starting with the Gingham Gala 6” x 6” DSP, cut the color of your choice at 4 ½”, this will give you a 1 ½” x 6” piece, and then cut that in half at ¾”. The remaining piece of DSP will measure 4 ½” x 6”, on the 6” side you will cut this at 3”, which will give you two pieces measuring 3” x 4 ½”. Cutting your DSP at these measurements will give you enough to make two cards from this one piece:
The base layer is Whisper White cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and is embossed with the Garden Trellis TIEF:
For the rest of the card front, you will need some scrap Whisper White cardstock to stamp the lily, stems, and leaf to cut out with the coordinating framelit die (I stamped the lily in Highland Heather ink and the leaf and stems in Granny Apple Green ink), and then a piece of coordinating organdy ribbon tied into a bow. **TIP-to make sure that the stamp and die line up for cutting, first place the die down, place the stamp inside the die, and then pick up the stamp with either your block or Stamparatus. To assemble the card front, adhere the DSP to the embossed base layer:
I used glue dots to adhere the lily and leaf pieces together, then used dimensionals to adhere the DSP, and used a glue dot to adhere the ribbon:
This completed piece is then adhered to Highland Heather cardstock card base, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½”:
For the inside, cut at piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings in Highland Heather ink, the stem in Granny Apple Green ink, the lily in Highland Heather ink, and then adhere the ¾” piece of Gingham Gala DSP along the bottom, trimming off the excess:
If you are looking for a great way to make multiples of for Easter, I hope this helps you! One sheet of colored cardstock, one sheet of Whisper White cardstock, one sheet of DSP, and some scrap for cutting the stamped images gives you two quick and easy cards! Missed out on the Lily Framelits and Organdy Ribbon? No worries! Stamp the lilies on a 2 ¾” x 4 ¼” piece of Whisper White cardstock (or smaller) and use white ribbon that you have on hand instead!
