Have a Lucky Day!

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which a fun and easy St. Patrick’s Day themed card! Combining the four-leaf clover stamp from Amazing Life, the sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings, and my own DIY shamrocks, I was able to create this super cute card!

The base layer is a 3 ½” x 5” piece of Whisper White cardstock and I stamped the four-leaf clover stamp in Call Me Clover and Granny Apple Green inks. The next layer is from the Brights 6” x 6” DSP in Granny Apple Green cut at 3” x 4 ½”:

For the card front, you will stamp the sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings in Call Me Clover ink on Whisper White cardstock, cut out with the smallest Layering Oval Framelit, and then cut a piece from Call Me Clover cardstock with the smallest scallop Layering Oval Framelit. To create the shamrocks, I used the heart framelit from the Stitched Labels Framelits to cut out three hearts in Gold Foil, Granny Apple Green, and Call Me Clover cardstock. I made the stem from the flower framelits from Hummingbird Framelits Dies, just cutting a small piece with the framelit. If you do not have this, you can easily just cut the cardstock with your Snips:

The easiest way I found to adhere all the pieces of cardstock for the shamrocks was to use a dimensional. I started with the stem and then adhered each heart, starting with the sides and then the top:

For each shamrock I added a pearl embellishment to the middle, the gold shamrock has a gold metallic pearl and the Granny Apple Green and Call Me Clover shamrock’s have a Pearl Basic Jewel that I colored with a Stampin’ Blends Marker:

To assemble card front, adhere the base layer to a 4 ¼” x 11”, scored at 5 ½” Call Me Clover cardstock card base and then adhere the DSP on top. The sentiment is then adhered and remove the backing from the dimensional to adhere the shamrock’s:

For the inside of the card, cut a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of Whisper White cardstock, adhere a ¾” x 4” piece of Brights 6” x 6” along the bottom, and then stamp the four-leaf clovers in Granny Apple Green and Call Me Clover inks:

Wasn’t that a fun card?? This would be a great birthday card for someone who’s birthday is on St. Patrick’s Day, a holiday card to send to family and friends, or even just wishing someone good luck!!

Animal Outing Mini Miura Fold Card

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a Mini Miura Fold Card that was made using the Animal Expedition Suite! This is a fun card that I CASE’d from Rachel Tessman and you can see her YouTube video hereI was looking for a “wow card” to make for my daughter-in-law’s birthday when I came across Rachel’s video. I first made her card, which I will share  pictures at the end of this post, and since you can make two cards out of one 12” x 12” sheet of cardstock, I thought I would share with you a fun baby card made with the Animal Expedition Suite. **If at any point you are not sure about this card, please see Rachel’s video! It’s very easy to follow along**

I first started with a 12” x 12” piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and trimmed two ½” x 12 pieces for the belly band:

Then turn the cardstock to the 12” side (you will have one side that is now 11”) and then score at 4” from each end. After scoring, you can cut the cardstock in half on the 11” side, this will give you two card bases at 5 ½” x 12” and two belly bands at ½” x 12”:

You will then turn the card vertically (the 5 ½” is at the top and bottom) and you will need a ruler to 1) measure 2” in from the right on the top score line to make a mark with a pencil and then make a small mark at the end of the score line (left side) and 2) measure 2” in from the left on the bottom score line to make a mark with a pencil and then make a small mark at the end of the score line:

Using either your Stampin’ Trimmer or your ruler, Stampin’ Pierce Mat, and a stylus, start at the 2” mark and score to the small mark at the end of the other score line. I used my Stampin’ Trimmer and this is what it looks like:

After scoring each side, this is what it will look like and make sure to erase your pencil marks:

For the cardstock and DSP layers, this is where I changed it up a bit, I cut three pieces of Call Me Clover cardstock at 3 ¾” x 5 1/8”:

For the left panel, use your ruler and measure 1 7/8” from the top on the right side and mark with a pencil:

For the right panel, use your ruler and measure 1 7/8” from the bottom on the left side and mark with a pencil:

For the middle panel, use your ruler and measure 1 7/8” from the top on the left side and the bottom of the right side and mark with a pencil:

You will line up the cardstock with the pencil mark and the corner in the cutting track of your trimmer. This is what the final cut pieces will look like:

You will need to give those triangle pieces an extra trim, Rachel cut hers at the ¼” line, but I didn’t want to cut that much, so I lined the long side up with the first line after the cutting track. The very first line to the right of the track is the ¼” line:

For the DSP layer, I used these designs from Animal Expedition (make sure that your design is vertical) and cut them each at 3 ½” x 4 7/8”:

Instead of measuring the DSP at the 1 7/8” mark, I measured at 1 5/8” and then cut them the same way as the cardstock. **Tip-if your triangle pieces don’t quite line up, cut them slightly again at the line before the ¼” mark on your trimmer:

Now it’s time to bend those score lines! For the top, you will want the fold to go “away” from you and for the bottom, you will want the fold to go “towards” you. I used my fingers to manipulate the score lines to fold and then used my bone folder to get those crisp folds. This is what the card base will look like completely folded:

You can now adhere the cardstock and DSP layered pieces to the card base, I used liquid glue so I have a little wiggle room to adjust placement:

The kangaroo, giraffe, rhino, and frog on a branch are all stamped in Memento Ink on Thick Whisper White cardstock. The frog on a branch is colored in with Light Call Me Clover, Light Crumb Cake, and Light Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends. The giraffe is colored in with Dark Soft Suede and Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. The rhino is colored in with Light and Dark Smoky Slate and Ivory Stampin’ Blends, I used the Color Lifter on the horn to make it slightly lighter and the bird is colored in with Light and Dark Lovely Lipstick and Light Pineapple Punch Stampin’
Blends. The kangaroo and koala bear are colored in with Ivory, Bronze, and Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends. These are then cut out with the coordinating framelit and I used the branch framelit to cut out five pieces out of Call Me Clover cardstock:

The rhino is adhered to a piece of the Animal Expedition DSP punched out with the Starburst Punch with dimensionals, three of the leaves are adhered to the back of the punched DSP, and then this piece is adhered to the card. The frog on a branch is adhered to the bottom fold with mini dimensionals:

The other two leaves are adhered to the back of the giraffe and then adhered to the top fold with a dimensional. The sentiment is stamped in Crumb Cake ink on a 5/8” x 1 5/8” piece of Whisper White cardstock and then adhered to Call Me Clover cardstock cut out with the Stitched Labels Framelits, adhered with dimensionals:

To complete the card, I folded the ½” x 12” belly band around the card and punched the end with the Banner Triple Punch. After deciding on the belly band placement, I used three dimensionals above the belly band and then two more dimensionals at the top of the kangaroo layered piece:

This will allow for your belly band to stay in place, but also have a cute front of the card. I used the largest scalloped and the third largest Layering Ovals on Call Me Clover cardstock and Animal Expedition DSP:

If you would like to add your own personal sentiment, cut a piece of 3 ¾” x 3 ¾” Whisper White cardstock to adhere to the back:

Now here is the birthday card I made for my daughter-in-law, using All My Love DSP, Butterfly Beauty Thinlits Dies, Lovely Lipstick Foil Sheet and made a custom coordinating envelope with the All My Love DSP. The card was a big hit (her birthday was yesterday and she already received the card) and I just love finding fun and over-the-top cards to make for family! Thank you so much Rachel for your great directions and inspiration for this card!!

Wishing you a lovely Valentine’s Day

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a sweet card to send for Valentine’s Day! I just love the Grapefruit Grove & Lovely Lipstick Foil Sheets, which you can still earn for free with a qualifying $50 purchase from the SAB catalog while supplies last, so making a Valentine’s card with Lovely Lipstick Foil Sheets is a must! I really wanted to create a card that would be sweet and let someone know that you are thinking of them, but not necessarily one traditionally made with hearts. Using the combination of the Forever Lovely Bundle and coordinating DSP from the All My Love DSP made it super easy.

The card base is Thick Whisper White cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”. I cut a ½” strip off the card front for the strip of DSP that will be peeking out from the inside:

Cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 3 ¾” x 4”and use the flower edgelit to cut/emboss one end of the cardstock. Cut a piece of Lovely Lipstick Foil Sheet at 2” x 3 ¾”and then used the coordinating edgelit to cut out the foil sheet to layer under the Whisper White cardstock:

The rest of the items you will need for this card will be the sentiment stamped in Lovely Lipstick ink on Whisper White cardstock, cut out with the 2ndlargest Oval Stitched Shapes Framelits, and then layered on a piece of Lovely Lipstick Foil Sheet cut out with the 3rdlargest Scalloped Oval Layering Framelit, the small flowers are cut out with the framelit in Lovely Lipstick Foil Sheet with a Pearl Basic Jewell in the middle, the leaves are cut out of Soft Sea Foam cardstock, the strip of DSP measures 3 4/” x 5 ½”, the rose is stamped in Lovely Lipstick ink on Whisper White cardstock and cut out with the coordinating die, the leaves are stamped in Soft Sea Foam ink on Whisper White cardstock and cut out with the coordinating die:

To assemble the card front, adhere the foil sheet to the back of the Whisper White cardstock, and then adhere to the card base, the Soft Sea Foam leaves are adhered to the back of the sentiment and then popped up with dimensionals, the foil flowers are adhered with glue dots, and the DSP is adhered to the inside edge of the card:

The inside sentiment is stamped in Lovely Lipstick ink and the leaves are adhered to the back of the flower, which is then adhered to the corner of the inside:

Isn’t this a lovely card that would be great to hand out for Valentine’s Day? This is another great way to send a card to let friends and family you are thinking of them!

A little Country Home

Hello and welcome to today’s card, featuring the Country Lane Suite from the 2018 Holiday Catalog! When I first saw this suite, I knew this was a must for my Fall and Thanksgiving cards and yes, I ordered everything! Lol I will have to admit that the DSP is a little out of my norm and wasn’t too sure about it, but I figured “what the heck, just go for it and you will figure it out”!  So, I got everything from the suite out (except the blends), picked a design from the DSP, and just went from there. This card is really an “all occasion” suite, just simply creating a pretty card!

To create this card, first start with a card base in Mint Macaron cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_2982

The base layer is Blackberry Bliss cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and embossed with the Subtle Dynamic TIEF:

fullsizeoutput_2985

The next layer is from the Country Lane DSP, cut at 3 ¾” x 5”:

fullsizeoutput_2988

For the card front, I stamped the metal pitcher stamp from the Country Home stamp set in Memento ink, used Light and Dark Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends, and cut out using the second largest oval Stitched Shapes Framelits. I stamped this flower stamp in Memento ink on a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock, colored with Light and Dark Mint Macaron, Light Crumb Cake, Light Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Blends, used Wink of Stella on the cotton, and then fussy cut out. I used the largest oval from the Layering Ovals Framelits to cut out this design from the DSP and cut 2 ½” off the long side of the Chicken Wire Element, which gives you a 3” x 4” piece:

fullsizeoutput_298b

Adhere the oval pieces together and then adhere the flower piece with a dimensional:

fullsizeoutput_298e

Adhere the DSP to the embossed base layer, place the Chicken Wire Element where you want, and then used liquid glue to adhere the layered oval pieces on top:

fullsizeoutput_2991fullsizeoutput_2994fullsizeoutput_2997

Adhere this completed top layer to the card base:

fullsizeoutput_299a

The inside is a piece of Whisper White cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and I adhered a ¾” x 4” piece of the DSP along the bottom:

fullsizeoutput_299d

Isn’t this a great card and don’t you love this suite? I never would have thought to pair Mint Macaron and Blackberry Bliss together if it wasn’t for this DSP! This card is great to leave the inside blank, then when you need a card you can simply add the sentiment you need!

Broadway Bound One Sheet Wonder-Part 3

Hello and welcome to today’s cards, which are another “one sheet wonder” from a 12” x 12” Broadway Bound Specialty Designer Series Paper! If you’ve been following along, the previous two posts feature cards made from layouts on Pinterest, but today I made my own layout. I tried looking for something that had a combination of vertical and horizontal cuts, along with not very many little cuts, but didn’t find one that I liked, so I figured I would give it a try! It really wasn’t that difficult and I was able to make 8 cards out it!

Below is a picture of the sheet of DSP that I used and the template that I made. Wondering what the template is? Would you believe that it is the cardboard that is from the Foil Sheets?! These are slightly bigger than 12” x 12”, so I mark the cardboard when making the measurements. This can also be cut down to make smaller templates!

Broadway Bound One Sheet Wonder-Part 2

Hello and welcome to today’s cards, which are another “one sheet wonder” from a 12” x 12” Broadway Bound Specialty Designer Series Paper! On Monday I shared one template that made 7 cards from a single sheet of DSP and today I am sharing another template that I was able to make 8 cards and 1 invitation! I chose this particular design of paper because I wanted to see what other colors that I could use to make these, aside from the coordinating Lemon Lime Twist and Lovely Lipstick.

Today’s template is courtesy of Elizabeth Jeanne Thatcher that I found on Pinterest! Below is the DSP and the template for cutting:

fullsizeoutput_2332fullsizeoutput_2335

I wanted to make a template that I could easily refer back to and not try to remember where I found it at. Below is a picture of each card I made, inside and out, with a brief description:

The card base is Flirty Flamingo cardstock, 5 ½” x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”

I used the Celebrate Thinlit Die to cut out once on Champagne Foil and twice on Whisper White Cardstock, glued layers together, and then adhered with mini dimensionals

The balloons are cut out of Champagne Foil, Petal Pink, and Gorgeous Grape cardstock with the Balloon Banquet Punch. I used the Softly Falling and Seaside TIEF to emboss the balloons, tied Whisper White Baker’s Twine, and adhered with dimensionals

The “invitation” is on a 3 ½” x 4 ¾” piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamped in Blueberry Bushel ink with the Balloon Celebrations and Pick a Pennant stamp sets

I punched out two of the larger balloons in Gold Foil with the Balloon Banquet Punch, heat embossed in Black Embossing Powder on one balloon “Birthday” and “Party” from the Tabs for Everything Stamp set, and then then adhered the balloons to the cardstock to create a tab pull for the cardstock

The front sentiment is using the Pick a Pennant stamp set, the Playful Pennants Framelits Dies, and heat embossed Gold Embossing Powder

Broadway Bound One Sheet Wonder!

Hello and welcome to today’s cards, which are made from a single sheet of Broadway Bound Specialty Designer Series Paper! What makes it a specialty paper? The Gold Foil!! So, for each sheet of this DSP, one side is a regular design and the other has gold foil in the design!! I don’t know about you, but I make and send birthday cards all year long to family and friends, so with the new catalog launch it was time to get a new birthday stamp set and designer paper. I chose the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set and Broadway Bound DSP and think they work together great! Yes, I know that there is a coordinating stamp and dies for the DSP, but I wanted something different!

So as I set out to create some birthday cards, I thought I would try something different, decided on “one sheet wonder”, went on Pinterest, and found this particular layout from Traci Cornelius. I’m not gonna lie, when started cutting the DSP I almost started panicking! Was I doing this right? Is the paper facing the right way? How am I going to make cards out of all these pieces?? What was I thinking?? After taking a deep, cleansing breath and confirming the DSP was facing the right way (we’ve all done it, cut the DSP design in the wrong direction), I continued cutting the DSP. Here is the layout and I also made a template on a leftover piece of cardboard:

fullsizeoutput_2302fullsizeoutput_2311

I wanted to make a template that I could easily refer back to and not try to remember where I found it at. Below is a picture of each card I made, inside and out, with a brief description:
