Sweet Little Ladybug Card

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a fun birthday card featuring the Little Ladybug stamp set and the coordinating Ladybug Dies! This adorable stamp set is a hostess stamp set from the 2020 Sale-A-Bration Catalog that you can earn with a qualifying order or as the hostess of a qualifying party and you can purchase these coordinating dies to go with the stamp set! One of the fun things to do with this stamp set is to color in the ladybugs and I thought this would be fun to do with the Stampin’ Write Markers as my “go to” for coloring is the Stampin’ Blends.

The base layer is Whisper White cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and stamped with the Birch background stamp in Sahara Sand ink:

For the card front, you will need:

1. Stamp the large flower stamp on Whisper White cardstock in Memento ink, color the flower center with Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Marker, color the stem and leaves with Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ Write Marker, and color the line in the petals with Petal Pink Stampin’ Write Marker. This is cut out with the coordinating die.

2. Use the two grass emboss and cut dies to cut out of Pear Pizzazz cardstock.

3. Stamp three of the ladybugs in Memento ink on Whisper White cardstock, color the wings with Poppy Parade Stampin’ Write Marker, their face, hands, feet, and part of the body with Petal Pink Stampin’ Write Marker, and the other lines of their bodies with Smoky Slate Stampin’ Write Marker. These are cut out with the coordinating dies.

4. Stamp the sentiment in Memento ink on Whisper White cardstock, cut out with the smallest Layering Circles Dies, and then use the 1 3/8” Scallop Circle Punch on Poppy Parade cardstock to layer under the sentiment.

The flower and two of the ladybugs are adhered to the base layer with Snail and the grass, one ladybug on the grass, and the sentiment are adhered with dimensionals:

This completed piece is then adhered to a Sahara Sand cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

For the inside, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”. The sentiment and ladybugs across the bottom are stamped in Memento ink and the ladybugs are colored in with Poppy Parade Stampin’ Write Marker:

This is a super cut birthday card that is quick to make! If you don’t have Stampin’ Write Markers, you can still use all the same colors with the Stampin’ Blends, and if all else, you can use a Blender Pen with your ink pads. In the list of supplies for this project, I also included the retired 1 ¼” Circle Punch as this would layer perfectly with the scallop punch if you still have this or just use the smallest layering circle die.
