Mother’s Day Blog Hop!

Hello and welcome to the Stamp It Group Mother’s Day Blog Hop and giveaway for April! I’m so excited to be participating in another blog hop with such a talented group of ladies!

When I started out to create this card, I wanted to keep up with the “challenge myself” theme that I’ve been doing by using up products that are on the retirement list! We have to make room for the new products that are getting ready to come out in the new 2018-2019 Annual Catalog, right?? So, I chose to use the Painted with Love Designer Series Paper and created from that!

The card base is Rich Razzleberry cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

The base layer is Painted with Love DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:

The next layer is Whisper White cardstock, cut at 3” x 4 ½”:

I used the Timeless Textures stamp set to stamp the background images in Powder Pink and Blushing Bride inks on the Whisper White cardstock layer:

I used the Letters for You stamp set to stamp MOM in Rich Razzleberry ink on a piece of Whisper White cardstock and then cut out with the coordinating Large Letter Framelits:

The dragonflies are cut out on Gold Foil Sheet using the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies and I snipped the top and bottom dragonflies off. The middle part is adhered to the Whisper White base with glue dots and then the letters are adhered on top with dimensionals:

Using the Labeler Alphabet stamp set on a ½” piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the letters and image in Blushing Bride and Melon Mambo inks, trimming the ends with the Banner Triple Punch:

To put the card together, adhere the base layer to the card base, adhere the Whisper White cardstock on top of this, use Mini Dimensionals to adhere the two dragonflies that I snipped off and the little sentiment:

The inside sentiment is from the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set, stamped in Rich Razzleberry, Blushing Bride, and Powder Pink inks:

I love how this card turned out and hope this inspires you to “challenge yourself” when you make not just your Mother’s Day cards, but all cards!

Triple W Fold Card

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a super cool Triple W Fold card! This is a special card that I made for my granddaughter that is officially one years old today! Her birthday party was this last Saturday and I was able to drive to Mississippi for a few days to celebrate her birthday!! I really wanted to go all out when I made this card, and when I found out that the theme was unicorns, the Myths & Magic Suite was a no brainer! The basics for this card is very easy, so let’s get started!

The card base is actually one sheet of card stock, 8 ½” x 11”, cut at 4 ¼” x 11” and scored at 5 ½”, in Bermuda Bay:

To connect the two pieces together, I used a 1” piece of Silver Foil, scored at ½” and adhered with Tear & Tape Adhesive. When these are connected, it is a typical 4 ¼” x 5 ½” card base:

On a piece of Whisper White cardstock cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, I used Memento Ink to stamp the unicorn stamp from the Magical Day stamp set. Then I used Stampin’ Blends and Stampin’ Write Markers to color in:

I used the Large Letter Framelits to cut out Happy Birthday from the unicorn paper and I cut out Happy Birthday again with the Myths & Magic Glimmer paper in turquoise. I adhered the glimmer paper to the back with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and positioned it so the glimmer paper was sticking out slightly from behind:

I used the cloud framelits from the Magical Mates Framelits and Up & Away Thinlits on the turquoise and iridescent Myths & Magic Glimmer paper and the Silver Glimmer paper:

From the Myths & Magic Specialty DSP, cut a piece of the unicorn paper to 4” x 5 ¼” and adhere on the front of the card:

For the inside, use the cloud DSP and cut four pieces, two at 4” x 5 ¼” and two at 4” x 5”. The two bigger pieces of DSP are adhered to the front and back inside and the two smaller are adhered to the middle pieces with the Silver Foil connector:

Next, cut two pieces of the Springtime Foils Specialty DSP at 1 ½” x 11”. I used a Sponge Brayer and colored with Bermuda Bay ink, wiping off the excess ink with a paper towel. These pieces are scored at 2 ¾’, 5 ½”, and 8 ¼”, fold and burnish making at W:

I adhered the letters with Mini Glue Dots towards the bottom of the letters and spacing them so Happy is on one and Birthday is on the other:

To put the inside together, I cut out some of the unicorns from the DSP and adhered those with Mini Dimensionals and then adhered the clouds throughout the inside. The strips of DSP are adhered with Tear & Tape Adhesive:

The front sentiment is a piece of Whisper White cardstock cut out with the largest circle from the Layering Circles Framelits, the sentiment from the Number of Years stamp set in Bermuda Bay ink, the background stars from the Magical Day stamp set in Pool Party ink, and the Large Number of Years Framelits from the stamped and colored paper and the turquoise glimmer paper. The number and circle are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals:

Since this card is thick and doesn’t lay completely flat, I used the Envelope Punch Board to create my own envelope using the Foil Frenzy Specialty DSP in Pool Party, the Layering Labels Framelits, some left over unicorns that were cut out, glimmer paper, and the Balloon Banquet Punch:

I am so please at how this turned out! It’s amazing how you will see an idea for a template, such as the Triple W Fold, and just get creative! I hope you enjoy this card and this inspires you to make your own!

For the engagement

Hello and welcome to my final day featuring Weddings and Anniversaries! Today is a clean and simple engagement card and is a great way to congratulate the happy couple!

The card base is Whisper White cardstock, cut at 4 ¼” x 11” and scored at 5 ½”.

The base layer is Silver Foil Sheet, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”.

The top layer is another piece of Whisper White cardstock, cut at 3 ¾” x 5”. I used the Large Letters Framelits to cut out the word LOVE:

fullsizeoutput_17e6The two rings are cut out of a scrap piece of Silver Foil sheet using the ¾” and 1” circle punches and I created the diamond using a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper and the smallest scalloped Layering Squares, just using the corner of the framelit and then using scissors to round the two top corners. The ring pieces are adhered with the Fine Tip Glue Pen and the diamond is adhered with a Mini Dimensional. This layer is then adhered to the Silver Foil Sheet:

This piece is then adhered to the card base:

The inside sentiment is from the Special Celebrations stamp set, heat embossed in Silver Embossing Powder:

This is such a simple, but elegant card that is easy to make! What do you think?

For Baby

Welcome to my final day of Baby Week! Today’s card make look complicated, but it is so easy! One of my favorite color combos is Sweet Sugarplum and Berry Burst and since Sweet Sugarplum is getting ready to retire on May 31st, I wanted to try and incorporate into this card.

Start with a card base in Sweet Sugarplum cardstock, cut at 8 ½” x 5 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”:

Using a piece of the ombre’ Berry Burst DSP from the Color Theory DSP stack, cut at 3” x 4 ¼”:

Then cut at piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼” and from the Moon Baby stamp set, stamp this image in Sweet Sugarplum and Berry Burst inks (they are really close in color and it is hard to tell in the pictures the difference):

Using the Large Letters Framelits, cut out the “baby” letters, then place some Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back to adhere the ombre’ Berry Burst DSP:

I then placed the cut-out letters back and used them as a guide to place the inside of the B and A with Stampin’ Dimensionals in place:

I used a piece of ½” Finely Woven Ribbon in Berry Burst to tie a bow and adhered with a Glue Dot on the upper right side and placed some Glitter Enamel Dots in Berry Burst:

I used the sentiment from the Baby Bear stamp and the star from the Moon Baby stamp set in Sweet Sugarplum ink:

You are now left with the word BABY cut out from the thinlits that you can use to make another card:

This has been a fun week making baby cards! I know this isn’t a typical card that we should keep on hand, but I wanted to share my ideas for making easy cards with you! Have a great weekend!!
