Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is one last card from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog! I can’t believe that the catalog ends tomorrow! So, that means you have the rest of the day today and tomorrow to place a qualifying order for those SAB products that are still available! I thought I would do one last card featuring products from the SAB catalog and the Little Ladybug stamp set would be perfect!! This is a very simple and fun card made with a whole lot of heat embossing! I say simple for you, but I actually played around with some ideas for this card, so, not so simple for me! Lol I really wanted to do something in black and white, kind of like a “chalk board” card, so it did require some “experimenting” before I found the version that I liked (I’ll share a couple of those at the end of the post).
I first made the base layer by using the largest layering Stitched Rectangle Die on a piece of Basic Black cardstock. I used the cloud stamp from This Little Piggy in Whisper White Craft Ink and heat embossed with Shimmer White Emboss Powder:
For the rest of the card front, you will need:
1. On Basic Black cardstock, stamp the large flower in Whisper White Craft ink, heat emboss with Shimmer White Emboss Powder, and cut out with the coordinating die.
2. On Basic Black cardstock, stamp the flying ladybug in Whisper White Craft ink, heat emboss with Shimmer White Emboss Powder, and cut out with the coordinating die.
3. On Basic Black cardstock, stamp the sentiment in Whisper White Craft ink, heat emboss with Shimmer White Emboss Powder, and cut out with the one non-layering Stitched Rectangle Die.
4. Use the second smallest layering Stitched Rectangle Die to cut a piece of Real Red cardstock. Use the sentiment piece to guide you to reposition the die so it will cut a layering piece under the sentiment.
To assemble the base layer, use Black Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the flower, ladybug, and layered sentiment piece:
For the card base, cut a piece of Real Red cardstock at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and score at 4 ¼”. Go ahead and fold/burnish your card base, ink the All Wired Up stamp completely with Memento ink, and lay the side that will be your card front on top and rub the backside so the inked image will transfer to the cardstock. I use a scrap piece of paper over the top of the cardstock and then rub, this will keep my fingers and hands getting ink on them. The base layer is adhered on top:
For the inside, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”. I used my Stamparatus to line up and stamp the stamps. I first positioned the stamps to see if there was enough room on each side of the sentiment for the ladybugs and since there is, I lined the ladybugs up on the left side and then the sentiment next to it, stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed with Shimmer Black Emboss Powder. I cleaned the ladybug stamp, lined it up to the right of the sentiment stamp, removed the sentiment stamp from the plate, and then stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed in Shimmer Black Emboss Powder:
Here are my first two versions, one is simply stamped in Whisper White Craft Ink and the other is stamped in the ink as well, but then heat embossed with Shimmer White Emboss Powder:
Which version do you like?? Each version is taking it a “step up”, I definitely like the heat embossed versions, but since I felt it was a little “flat”, that’s what made me to decide to try it with die cutting images. I honestly like the third version with the popped up die cut images best!
