Hello and welcome to today’s card which features the Sunshine & Rainbows stamp set and the Rainbow Builder Framelits Dies! When I first started creating this card, what I had pictured in my mind did not quite turn out right…so, instead of scrapping everything and starting over, I created this card from what I had started with and I think this turned out so much better!
The idea behind today’s card was for someone that may be having a bad day or a difficult time, and what better way to cheer their spirits than to send a card. I first started out with a piece of Shimmery White cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and used Sponge Brayers in Gray Granite ink, starting at the top, Smoky Slate ink, towards the bottom, and then embossed with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder. Then I thought I would create a “cloud outline” with the two cloud framelits from the Rainbow Builder Dies using the new Big Shot Embossing Mats and go from there. Since I didn’t like the results and did not want to start over, I sat down and figured out how to utilize this piece to create the card I wanted:
I used the framelits and cut the clouds to make it look like a stormy day:
I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock and used the Sponge Brayer in Smoky Slate ink for the base layer:
I then positioned and adhered the three layers of clouds, using dimensionals for the top layer:
Using the lightning bolt framelit, cut out two pieces each from Silver and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Papers:
I decided to use the sentiments from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set. The card front sentiment is heat embossed in Copper Embossing Powder and cut out with the cloud framelit from the left over paper that I used to make the clouds:
The card base is Night of Navy cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:
After adhering the base layer to the card base, I added some clear teardrop and circle accents from the Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes:
The inside sentiment is meant to brighten the receiver’s day, so I used my Stamparatus to stamp the rainbow in Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch, Call Me Clover, and Blueberry Bushel inks, the sun is in Pineapple Punch ink, the clouds and sentiment are in Balmy Blue ink:
