Thanksgiving Heartfelt Wishes

Hello and welcome to today’s blog post, which is a festive Thanksgiving card featuring the Heartfelt Wishes stamp set and Gorgeous Leaves Bundle! This card is so easy to make with a little stamping, die-cutting, heat embossing, and added sparkle with the Gold & Rose Gold 6” x 6” Metallic Specialty Paper! No matter the color palette you use, the background stamps from Gorgeous Leaves stamp set let you create your own designer paper background!

To start, I first cut a piece of the Gold Metallic Specialty Paper at 4” x 6” and then cut that in half so you will have two pieces measuring 4” x 3”. I then used a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock measuring 4” x 5 ¼” and used my trimmer to cut diagonally across. I can’t really give you the exact measurement, I just “eyeballed” it. I then stamped the large splatter stamp in Mango Melody ink and the small splatter stamp in Cajun Craze and Old Olive inks, stamping again without inking (second generation):

I placed adhesive along the top of the 4” x 3” Gold Metallic Paper and you can either use your grid paper or card base to line up the stamped Very Vanilla cardstock to adhere to the Gold Metallic Paper, giving you a base layer measuring 4” x 5 ¼”:

For the rest of the card front, you will need:

1. Cut a 1” strip of Kraft Paper and heat emboss the sentiment in Gold Embossing Powder.

2. Each leaf is stamped once on Old Olive, Cajun Craze, and Mango Melody cardstocks in Old Olive, Cajun Craze, and Mango Melody inks. They are then die-cut out with the coordinating dies.

3. Use a piece of Linen Thread to fold in half and tie into a double knot, trimming the ends.

4. Use two 4mm and one 5mm Gold Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots, not pictured.

I adhered the embossed Kraft Paper across the base layer, trimming the excess off each end, adhered the leaves as shown, adhered the double bow linen thread with a glue dot, and placed the Gold Metallic Dots as shown. This completed piece is adhered to a Cajun Craze cardstock card base, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½”:

For the inside, use a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment in Cajun Craze ink, stamp one leaf in Mango Melody ink, create a mask using the coordinating die, and then stamp the other two leaves in Old Olive and Cajun Craze inks:

Now, you can make two of these cards! As you can see, the other piece of Very Vanilla cardstock is a little short, but that’s where the embossed Kraft Paper strip comes in and hides it!!

This is a great way to make multiples and use up your cardstock scraps! I’m not a hoarder, but I do keep cardstock scraps (organized by color family), which is great for little pieces liked the die-cut leaves as you can fit all three on your die-cutting plate, depending on the size of paper! Don’t have the Gold & Rose Gold Metallic Specialty Paper? You can easily substitute with a piece of embossed cardstock, Timber or Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folders would be fun!
