Hello and welcome to today’s blog post, which is a fun die-cut scenery card featuring the Tree Lot Dies! These dies are going to make some super cute Christmas cards, with or without the coordinating Trees for Sale stamp set, but I wanted to show you how you can use these dies just by themselves for card making inspiration outside of the holidays! Whether it’s a masculine themed card or a customized card for the camper in your life, there are so many possibilities with the Tree Lot Dies! One of the best parts of camping is the campfire, so I improvised a little by using the tree trunk dies from Trees for Sale and the candle flame die from the Sentiment Silhouette Dies! The idea first popped into my head when I first used the Tree for Sale Dies and thought how fun it would be to make a campfire, but not until I previously made a candle themed birthday card that this would be possible with the candle flame die! So don’t be intimidated by all the die-cutting for this fun card!
The base layer is a 2 ½” x 5 ¼” piece of Starry Sky cardstock and a 1 ½” x 5 ¼” piece of Garden Green cardstock. The Starry Sky cardstock is going to be a night sky, so I used the star stamp from the Alphabest stamp set to heat emboss with white embossing powder and used a Blending Brush with Starry Sky ink along the top and sides of the cardstock, wiping off the ink from the embossed stars. The Garden Green cardstock will be the ground, which I used a Blending Brush with Garden Green ink around the bottom and sides of the cardstock:
For the rest of the card front, you will need:
1. Using Garden Green cardstock, use the outline tree dies to die-cut three large and two medium trees.
2. Using Granny Apple Green cardstock with adhesive sheet applied to the backside, use the detail tree dies to die-cut three large and two medium trees.
3. Use the tree stump die to die-cut from Crumb Cake cardstock and use an Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Maker (the fine point) to color the embossed lines.
4. Use the candle flame die to die-cut two from Mango Melody cardstock and one from Daffodil Delight cardstock.
5. Use the camper and detailed camper dies to die-cut from mirrored Silver Foil cardstock and use a Dark Basic Black Stampin’ Blend to color the windows, tire, and trailer stake and use a Light Basic Black Stampin’ Blend to color the inside of the tire rim.
6. Use a Blender Brush with So Saffron ink to color a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and use the moon die from Scary Silhouettes to die-cut out.
The card base is a 5 ½” x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼” piece of Thick Basic White cardstock, adhere the two cardstock base layer pieces to the front of the card base, remove the adhesive sheet backing to adhere the tree die-cut layers together, adhere the large trees to the base layer and use dimensionals to adhere the two medium trees as shown, adhere the camper die-cut layers together and use dimensionals along the bottom to adhere to the base layer, and I used the putty end of my Take Your Pick Tool to pick up the logs and candle flame die-cuts to adhere with liquid glue and layer as shown:
For the inside, use a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of Basic White cardstock, stamp the sentiment from In the Moment in Starry Sky ink, stamp the stars stamp from Alphabest to stamp in Balmy Blue ink, and stamp the moon stamp from Scary Cute stamp set in So Saffron ink:
For the coordinating Basic White Medium Envelope, the stars stamp and moon stamp are stamped in the bottom corner in Balmy Blue and So Saffron inks:
