Hello and welcome to a new week and a new theme! This week I am Celebrating Baby by featuring cards for a baby shower or to welcome a newborn! Today’s card is from the Moon Baby stamp set, which originally came out in the 2017 Occasions Catalog and then was carried over to the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog. This was one of the first stamp sets I purchased from the 2017 Occasions Catalog, I just thought it was so sweet and would be a perfect addition as I did not have any baby stamps. I went with a more neutral theme, but you could change the colors to reflect a boy or a girl.
I first started by stamping the “baby in the moon” stamp on a piece of Whisper White cardstock in Black Archival Ink. I used the Ivory and Bronze Stampin’ Blends to color in the skin and hair, then used a Blender Pen to color the moon in So Saffron ink, the baby’s pajamas in Wild Wasabi ink, and the star in Smoky Slate ink with some Wink of Stella. This piece is then cut out:
Next, I used a piece of Whisper White cardstock cut at 3 ½” x 4 ¾”, which I used a Sponge Brayer to completely color in Pool Party ink:
I used Stampin’ Sponges to add Tempting Turquoise and Night of Navy inks:
Give this a few minutes to dry completely, use the Embossing Buddy over the whole area, stamp the “three stars” stamp in Versamark ink, sprinkle with White Embossing Powder, and then heat emboss with your Heat Tool:
The base layer is a Silver Foil Sheet, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and embossed with the Cable Knit Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder:
The sentiment is also from the Moon Baby stamp set, on a piece of Whisper White, first stamped in Versamark, then stamped in Pool Party, and I used Clear Embossing Powder which is set with the Heat Tool. This is then cut out with the smallest circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits:
To put this card together, I used a piece of Pool Party cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”, adhered the two base pieces together, and then adhered the moon baby and sentiment on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals:
Isn’t this a super cute card?? If you were giving this at a baby shower, the colors could be coordinated!!
Please contact me if you have any questions about the products used on this or any other project. I hope you enjoyed this card and thanks for stopping by!
