Hello and welcome to today’s blog post, which is a sweet anytime card featuring the Happy Thoughts stamp set, Dandy Wishes Dies, and the Flower & Field DSP from the 2021 January-June Mini and the 2021 Sale-A-Bration Catalogs! If you missed the Happy Thoughts stamp set (page 28 in the JJ Mini Catalog) or maybe you have enough “thank you”, “happy birthday”, and “thank you” stamp sets (which I get), take a second look at the other sentiments from this stamp set! Whether for the card front or the inside, having a bigger sentiment for a card can make the occasion that more special and when you can mix and match any of them together is a “win-win” for me! Why not pair the super cute Flower & Field DSP from the 2021 SAB catalog (which you can earn for free with a $50 product purchase until Feb 28th) to create this quick and easy card?
The base layer is this design from the Flower & Field DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼” (vertical):
For the card front, you will need:
1. Use the largest layering sentiment die from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies to die-cut from Granny Apple Green cardstock.
2. Use the second largest sentiment die from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies to die-cut from Basic White cardstock and stamp the sentiment in Granny Apple Green ink.
3. The large flower die from Dandy Wishes Dies is die-cut from Basic White cardstock.
4. There are three layering dies for the above die, I used the middle-sized die to die-cut from Pool Party cardstock.
5. Use the small coordinating layering die to die-cut from So Saffron cardstock.
6. Use enough Braided Linen Trim to tie into a bow.
7. You will need done 6mm and two 5mm Gold Glitter Enamel Dots (not pictured).
I used liquid glue to adhere the layered die-cut flower pieces together and placed the 6mm Gold Enamel Dot in the middle. The die-cut sentiment pieces are layered/adhered together and use the two 5mm Gold Enamel Dots as shown:
The layered die-cut flower is adhered to the DSP base layer as shown, the layered die-cut sentiment is adhered over the stem to keep adhered to the DSP base layer, and use a glue dot to adhere the linen trim bow to the sentiment as shown:
Ooops! Did you notice the enamel dot came apart? No worries if this happens, just use a glue dot and good as new! This completed piece is adhered to a Granny Apple Green cardstock card base, cut at 4 ¼” x 11, and scored at 5 ½”:
For the inside, cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment in Granny Apple Green ink, and adhere a ¾”x 4” piece of cardstock (same design as the card front) along the bottom:
Here are a couple more examples of the sentiments for the inside, the largest sentiment fits perfectly, and one card used the Gilded Gems in place of the enamel dots:
Don’t you love the stamp set and the designer series paper?? Now, I could have used the Daisy Lane stamp set and either of the daisy punches, but, I really wanted to make the flower similar to the DSP design and the dies from the Dandy Wishes dies worked perfectly!
