Happy to celebrate you!

Hello and welcome to today’s blog post, which is a fun birthday card featuring the So Much Happy Bundle and Playing with Patterns 6” x 6” DSP! Now that all the holiday cards have been made and given, or sent, out, it’s time to bring out some favorites from the annual catalog! Like you, my most needed cards are for birthdays and since I spend the majority of the time since September making cards for the holidays, it’s time to stock up on birthday cards again!

The base layer is this design from the Playing with Patterns 6” x 6” DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:

For the card front, you will need:

1. Cut at 2” x 4 ¼” piece of Night of Navy cardstock and die the large “happy” die to die-cut out.

2. Use the banner die to die-cut out of Coastal Cabana and Purple Posy cardstock. Tip-place some of the adhesive sheet on the back of the cardstock before die-cutting for easy adhering.

3. On Whisper White cardstock, stamp two of balloons in Calypso Coral ink and one in Crushed Curry ink, use the coordinating dies to die-cut out.

I used liquid glue to adhere the “happy” die-cut about 1” from the bottom of the DSP base layer and removed the adhesive backing from the banners to adhere as shown:

The overhanging die-cuts are snipped off so they are even with the DSP sides, the large Calypso Coral balloon is adhered to the DSP base layer, the other two balloons are adhered with dimensionals, and use one 6mm Playing with Patters Resin Dots, in each color, as shown:

This completed piece is adhered to a Night of Navy cardstock card base, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½”:

For the inside, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the “happy” in Coastal Cabana ink, stamp the “to celebrate you” underneath in Night of Navy ink, and adhere the ¾” x 6” strip of DSP along the bottom, snipping off the excess:

Such a fun card that is quick and easy to make! If you want to make this a little more “masculine”, you could substitute Purple Posy for another coordinating color on the card! As usual, I cut up all four sheets of this design to make four of these cards because we need to use up our DSP to make room for more! I will use the left-over 2” x 5 ¼” piece to decorate the envelope, but you could easily use this to make another card!!
