Hello and welcome to today’s blog post, which is a fun Father’s Day card featuring the Gone Fishing Bundle and Let’s Go Fishing 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper! Do you really need to know about fishing to create a fishing themed card? NOPE! It’s been about 35 years or so since the one and only time I went fishing with my dad, so it’s not really my cup of tea. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t step out of your comfort zone, like I did, with this super cute suite! Even though Father’s Day is several weeks away, there’s not time like the present to get started on your cards. For my first card with products from the Let’s Go Fishing Suite, I will show you a fun “one sheet wonder” card that is easy to make!
Using both sides of this design from the Let’s Go Fishing DSP, cut the 12” x 12” sheet into three 4” x 12” pieces, cut two of those into four 4” x 5 ¼” base layers, four ¾” x 4” strips for the inside of the card, and cut the last 4” x 12” into four 4” x 3” pieces to also be used on the card front:

For the rest of the card front, you will need:
1. On Mossy Meadow cardstock, heat emboss the sentiment with black embossing powder and use the second from the smallest Nested Essentials Dies to die-cut out.
2. On Very Vanilla cardstock, stamp the round lure in Pebbled Path and Calypso Coral inks, the fish lure in Pecan Pie and Wild Wheat inks, and the other lure in Wild Wheat and Mossy Meadow inks. These are die-cut out with the coordinating dies.
3. Cut a 3” piece of the Natural Wavy Trim.
4. You will need two 4mm and one 5mm brown Neutrals Adhesive-Backed Sequins, not pictured.

To assemble the card front, first adhere the 4” x 3” piece of DSP to the middle of the 4” x 5 ¼” DSP base layer, adhere the die-cut sentiment with dimensionals, use mini glue dots to adhere the Natural Wavy Trim to the DSP, and dimensionals to adhere the lures as shown. *Tip-you can cut the edge piece from your dimensionals sheet for a thin strip to use on the fish lure. The base layer is adhered to a Mossy Meadow cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”, and then place the brown adhesive-backed sequins as shown:
For the inside, cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink, and adhere the ¾” x 4” strip of DSP along the side:

For the coordinating Very Vanilla Medium Envelope, stamp the fish in Pebbled Path ink and the second step stamp in Smoky Slate ink:

How fun and easy was this card to make? Aside from Father’s Day, you can easily use the card front sentiment with any of the other sentiments for the inside of the card. I think I have everything figured out with the dies for this bundle, however, there is one die I have NO IDEA what it is for, so I will be searching to see what other’s may use it for on their cards!
