Hello and welcome to today’s blog post, which features the Butterfly Gala stamp set, Butterfly Duet Punch, and products from the Forever Greenery Suite! Since we have a few days before the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog goes live, I thought I would show some love to some favorites of mine from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog! This is a fun and easy card that you can use any design from the Forever Greenery DSP and Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper card fronts!
To start, the base layer is a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of Forever Greenery DSP, any design:
The next layer is Soft Sea Foam cardstock, cut at 3 ½”x 5” and embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder, and the next layer is one of the card front pieces from the Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper:
For the card fronts, you will need:
1. Cut a ½” x 3” piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, use the Banner Pick-a-Punch, stamp the sentiment in Shaded Spruce ink, and wrap the gold trim from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack around the end three times, tying into a knot.
2. On Soft Sea Foam cardstock, pick a butterfly design, stamp in Shaded Spruce ink, and use the solid stamps in Soft Sea Foam ink, the bottom stamped twice (to make it a little darker) and the top once. Use the Butterfly Duet Punch to punch out.
First adhere the embossed cardstock to the DSP slightly skewed, then use a Fine Tip Glue Pen to adhere the gold laser-cut paper slightly skewed in the opposite direction:
This completed piece is adhered to a Crumb Cake cardstock card base, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½”. The sentiment and large butterfly are adhered with dimensionals and the small butterfly with a mini dimensional:
For the inside, stamp the sentiment in Shaded Spruce ink, the butterflies in Soft Sea Foam and Shaded Spruce inks, and adhere a ¾” x 4” piece of the same DSP design as the card front along the bottom:
Here are a couple more cards, just changed the DSP and gold laser-cut designs:
Fun and easy cards, right?? I made six of these cards, just changing the laser-cut paper and DSP designs! Trying to figure out how to use the card front cuts from the laser-cut paper can be overwhelming and not compliment all DSP designs, so I thought using a piece of embossed cardstock between the two would help with this. I chose the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder because it’s just that, subtle, and wouldn’t clash with either the DSP or gold laser-cut paper. For the designs of the laser-cut paper, like the leaf one above, you can easily use glue dots to adhere insead of the Fine Tip Glue Pen!
