Stronger than most with Petal Promenade Suite

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which a beautiful encouragement card made with the Petal Promenade Suite! There may come a time when a friend or loved one may be going through a rough time, and what better way to let them know that you are thinking of them, with some words of encouragement, than sending them a heartfelt card. The Petal Promenade Suite is a beautiful suite and perfect for such occasion!

Start with a base layer in Very Vanilla cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and then the next layer is this design from the Petal Promenade DSP, cut a 3 ¾” x 5”:

For the rest of the card front, you will use the doily die from Beautiful Layers Thinlits Dies to cut out of Champagne Foil Sheet, stamp the sentiment from Beautiful Promenade stamp set in Mossy Meadow ink on Very Vanilla cardstock and cut it out with the smallest oval from the Layering Ovals Thinlits Dies, cut out a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock with the smallest scallop oval from the dies to layer the sentiment on, cut out two of the leaves from Beautiful Layers in Mossy Meadow cardstock, and cut enough Very Vanilla Lace Trim and Fresh Fig Sheer Ribbon to wrap around the front of the DSP:

Layer the Fresh Fig Sheer Ribbon on top of the Very Vanilla Lace Trim and adhere the end pieces to the back of the DSP. Then adhere this piece to the Very Vanilla cardstock base layer:

The oval layers are adhered together, the leaves are adhered to the back of this piece, and then this is adhered to the foil doily piece. To adhere the foil doily to the DSP, I cut a dimensional in half, placing one piece at the top and the other on the bottom, and then adhered to the DSP. By doing this, the ribbon will be in between the dimensionals and the foil doily will stay in place and keep the ribbon in place:

This completed piece is then adhered to a Fresh Fig card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

The inside sentiment is on a 4” x 5 ¼” Very Vanilla cardstock, stamped in Fresh Fig ink. I used the background stamp in Fresh Fig ink along the left side and the flowers in the bottom corner are in Fresh Fig and Mossy Meadow inks, which I used a Sponge Dauber to color the stamp:

Isn’t this a beautiful card that was so easy to make?? Card making shouldn’t just be limited to birthdays or holidays, but for any reason to get you creative!

New Years Blog Hop!

fullsizeoutput_2f15

Hello and welcome to the Stamp It Group’s New Year’s Theme Blog Hop! My name is Christina Miller, I’m an independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrator located in Norfolk, Virginia, and you are visiting my blog, Christina’s Creative Corner! Whether this is your first stop on the blog hop or you have hopped on over from another site, thank you for letting me share my creation today! So, let’s get started!

While we send or give out cards for Christmas, what about New Year’s? Whether you are attending a New Year’s get-together, hosting a get-together, or maybe have other needs for a New Year’s card, what better way than to make one with shine and bling?

To start, use Thick Whisper White cardstock for your card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

You will need two pieces of Basic Black cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, one for the card front base layer and the other for the inside base layer:

From the Broadway Bound Specialty Designer Series, you will use this design, cut at 3 ¾” x 5”:

For the front of the card, you will use the celebrate from the Celebrate You Thinlits to cut out one piece in Gold Glimmer Paper and another piece in Basic Black cardstock (you can use either of the base layers for this). The two balloons are punched out using the Balloon Bouquet Punch (smaller balloon) in Basic Black and Gold Foil Paper. I used the balloon fill-in stamp from Happy Birthday Gorgeous to heat emboss Black Emboss Powder on the gold balloon and Gold Emboss Powder on the black balloon. The gold balloon is tied off with Basic Black Baker’s Twine and the black balloon is tied off with Whisper White Baker’s Twine. I used the pennant from the Playful Pennants Framelits Dies in Basic Black cardstock and used the numbers from the Pick A Pennant stamp set, which are heat embossed in Gold Emboss Powder (I created a template for my Stamparatus to make stamping easier). The tassels from the framelits, which are cut out in Gold Foil Paper:

To assemble the front of the card, adhere the two base layers to the card base, use your Fine Tip Glue Pen to layer the Basic Black celebrate to the back of the Gold Glimmer celebrate, and then adhere to the DSP.  I used the Fine Tip Glue Pen to adhere the tassels to the pennant, trimming the ends, and then used Mini Dimensionals to adhere to the DSP. The balloons are then adhered with Dimensionals:

For the inside sentiment, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 3 ¾” x 5”, the sentiment from the Warm Hearted stamp set is stamped in Memento ink, and the accent stamps from the set are heat embossed in Gold Emboss Powder. This piece is adhered to the other piece of Basic Black cardstock and then adhered to the card base:

What do you think?? Isn’t this a pretty easy card to make? Another great use for a New Year’s card, is that if you hand out cards to the service professionals in your life and maybe you aren’t going to see someone until after Christmas, well here you go! This would also come in handy if you need a non-traditional holiday card!
