Hello and welcome to today’s blog post, which features the new Charming Sentiments Bundle from the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog, paired with products from the Heart & Home Suite from the January – June 2022 Mini Catalog! Let’s talk about sentiments for a moment because they really can make the card and I’ve been really hoping for some new sentiments besides the staples of Happy Birthday, Thank You, Thinking of You, and so on-you know what I mean! So, what really drew me to the Charming Sentiments Bundle are the dies because every sentiment has a coordinating die, which I thought would be super fun and different! But then, you also get some super cute accent dies to coordinate with the sentiments! For today’s card, I wanted to show you how easy it is to just add a sentiment to your pretty DSP, die-cuts, and embellishments!
For the base layer, I used this design from the Heart & Home DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:
For the rest of the card front, you will need:
1. One of the Basic Gray Heart & Home Doilies.
2. Use one each of the Flowers of Home Dies to die-cut from Pale Papaya, Garden Green, and Fresh Freesia cardstocks.
3. Stamp the sentiment from Charming Sentiments in Night of Navy ink on Basic White cardstock and use the coordinating die to die-cut out.
4. You will need enough of the Denim Ribbon to tie around the base layer DSP into a knot.
5. You will need three of the 4mm Calypso Coral Polished Dots, not pictured.
I placed some adhesive in the middle of the doily to adhere the die-cuts as shown and used dimensionals to adhere the die-cut sentiment over top. After tying the denim ribbon around the DSP base layer into a knot, adhere the layered doily over the ribbon, and placed the three Polished Dots as shown. This completed piece is adhered to a Fresh Freesia cardstock card base, cut at 4 ¼” x 11” and scored at 5 ½”:
For the inside, cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment in Night of Navy ink, and adhere a ¾” x 4” strip of DSP along the bottom:
For the coordinating Basic White Medium Envelope, I used the small triple flower die from Flowers of Home to die-cut from Fresh Freesia cardstock and adhered the die-cuts to the bottom corner of the envelope:
This is a fun way to give your favorite DSP a new look! A great way to utilize this bundle is simply by stamping the sentiments and die-cutting them out, which will have your sentiment ready when you need to make a quick card!
