Hello and welcome to today’s blog post, which features products from the Fine Art Floral Suite! Last week my first order from the 2021 JJ Mini and SAB Catalogs arrived, and that included ALL the products from the Fine Art Floral Suite! I am absolutely in love with this suite!! The designer series paper is gorgeous, two of the designs from the Golden Garden Designer Specialty Acetate coordinate with two of the designs from the DSP, meaning that you lay the acetate sheet over the DSP and WOW!!, and everything in between! What I could not wait to order was the Gilded Leafing, Sara and Shelli did a demonstration at OnStage @Home with this and I was hooked! Even though I was going to start the week off with Valentine’s Day inspiration, I changed plans after my order arrived and was looking at all the new goodies! Lol
The base layer is this design from the Fine Art Floral DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼” (vertical):
For the card front, you will need:
1. Use the largest Layering Ovals Dies to die-cut from Pool Party cardstock, emboss with the Painted Texture 3D EF, and gently place the embossed side on your Whisper White Craft Pad, pat, lift up, and use your heat tool to help dry the craft ink.
2. Omit inking the “I’m” from the sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink, stamp on Basic White cardstock, and punch out with the smaller oval Double Oval Punch.
3. Use the larger oval Double Oval Punch to punch out of Gold Foil Sheet. This will be layered under the above sentiment.
4. Use enough of the Fine Art Ribbon to tie around the DSP Layer into a bow.
5. On Just Jade cardstock, stamp the stem and leaf stamp in Just Jade ink twice for two images, and use the coordinating die to die-cut out.
6. On Petal Pink cardstock, first stamp the detail flower stamp in Rococo Rose ink, stamp the full flower stamp in Petal Pink ink, and die-cut out with the coordinating die. Tip-I find it easier when two-step stamping to first stamp in darker ink to line up the second stamp, in the lighter ink.
7. On Rococo Rose cardstock, stamp the full flower in Rococo Rose ink, the detail flower stamp in Versamark to use the Heat & Stick Powder for the Gilded Leafing, and die-cut out with the coordinating die.
8. You will need six of the 4mm Matte Black Dots (not pictured), three will go in the center of each flower.
My tip for using the Gilded Leafing: this is going to be a little messy as the bits of gold can “float around”. For easy clean up, I used an extra piece of grid paper under the cardstock to put the little bits back in the container. When setting the Heat & Stick Powder, don’t over heat as it will dry, so you want to heat until it turns shiny and move on, quickly and let your heat tool heat up first is best. Immediately after heating the powder, I place the Gilded Leafing over the whole image, lightly pressing down, and then used a Stampin’ Sponge to lightly buff off the excess leafing into the container. If you find the container the Gilded Leafing comes in too small to work with, getting the leafing out or back in, you may want to get a slightly bigger container with a lid that has locking sides, using a lid that pulls up may create a huge mess when pulling up and off the container-remember this stuff and fly around easily.
I first placed the ribbon along the bottom and then adhered the embossed die-cut oval to the DSP base layer:
Adhere the petal pink flower to the right, the rococo rose flower on the left, popping the die-cut flower up with dimensionals, and then use mini dimensionals to adhere the layered sentiment over the ribbon:
This completed piece is adhered to a Pretty Peacock cardstock card base, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½”:
For the inside, cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼” and adhere a ¾” x 4” strip of DSP along the bottom, same design as the card front:
Here is the first card I did, stamping the flowers on Basic White cardstock, heat embossing the sentiment with Gold Emboss Powder, and using the larger rectangle die from Floral Gallery Dies:
Tip for the Double Oval Punch-I cut a 3” x 3” piece of old cardstock to use as a template to make sure a sentiment I want to use will fit in either size:

I, for one, am a huge fan of shape punches (circle, oval, square) because I find it so much easier to use a punch versus die-cutting when I have multiples to make!
