May Your Glass Be Half Full

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is continuing with the Half Full stamp set! When using this stamp set I tend to want to use Berry Burst or Fresh Fig colors, so I once again set out to challenge myself to use a color scheme that would not be typical and incorporate some items on the retirement list! I don’t know about you, but I have a TON of ribbon and Designer Series Paper that is either already retired or is on the new retirement list!

To make this card, I started with the card base in Tranquil Tide cardstock, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½”:

The base layer is from the Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate, cut at 4 ¼” x 5 ½”:

The next layer is from the Wood Textures DSP Paper Stack, cut at 3” x 4 ¼”:

On a piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the wine glassed image in Memento Ink, color in with a Stampin’ Blends Pen using So Saffron and Fresh Fig inks, and then cut out using the largest oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits:

I cut a piece of Tranquil Tide Finely Woven Ribbon long enough to go the length of the DSP and be able to adhere in the back. The sentiment is then adhered on top with dimensionals:

I adhered the acetate piece to the card base with Fast Fuse, only in the area that would be covered by the DSP, and then adhered the DSP on top:

The inside sentiment is from the Special Celebrations stamp set in Tranquil Tide ink on a piece of 4” x 5 ¼” Whisper White cardstock and from Timeless Textures, stamped the image in So Saffron and Fresh Fig inks, stamping off first:

Beautiful Peacock

Today’s fun and colorful card is made with the Beautiful Peacock stamp set that is found in the 2018 Sale-A-Bration Catalog, which you can earn FREE with a $50.00 or more purchase! Who doesn’t love free??

This is my first time playing with the set and I really wanted to create something that was close as possible to what a real peacock looks like. So, after spending some time looking and comparing, this is what I was able to create. Since the body and feathers have so many colors, I knew that using sponge daubers would be a great way to get this affect.

The card base is in Emerald Envy, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, scored at 5 ½”, and the base layer is from the Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate, using the silver side, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”.

On a piece of Whisper White card stock, the peacock body is colored in Pacific Point and Smokey Slate inks using Sponge Daubers. The coordinating feather “fan” image is stamped in Emerald Envy ink and then I used the Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Write Marker to color in the feathers to give it a multicolor look. For the peacock “train” I stamped in Lemon Lime Twist ink and then sponged Emerald Envy ink with a Sponge Dauber. I wanted to give the “fan” image a little bit more pizzazz, so I colored some Rhinestone Basic Jewells with the Light Night of Navy Stampin’ Blends marker, then placed those in the middle of the Pool Party Tutti-Frutti Adhesive Backed Sequins, and then placed them on the image. Here is a close up look:

Using the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies, I used the 2nd largest oval to cut out the peacock image, then used the largest scalloped oval image to cut out a piece of the light green glimmer paper from the Myths & Magic Suite, and adhered them together using Tombow Multipurpose Glue.  Using Fast Fuse, adhere the Foil Acetate to the card base by placing in the middle, then adhere the two layering oval pieces over. I still felt like I was missing something, so I got out some old Certainly Celery Ribbon, placed along the bottom, and then used the “celebrate” stamp from the Amazing You stamp set that I stamped on a scrap 1” piece of Whisper White card stock in Lemon Lime Twist ink and then sponged Emerald Envy ink with a Sponge Dauber. The end is trimmed with the Banner Triple Punch and adhered on the ribbon with dimensionals.

I just love this stamp set and can’t wait to see what other color combos I can create with! Let me know what you think of this card : )

Half Full

When the Holiday Catalog came out last year and I saw the Half Full stamp set, I knew I had to get it! This not only has Christmas sentiments, but you can use it for birthdays or just simply thinking of you. What’s even better is that this stamp set is still available in case you missed it!

Today’s card is a birthday card that I made for a friend of mine, not only does she love wine, she has her own wine purse!

The card base is in Fresh Fig, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”, and the base layer is from the Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate, using the side in gold, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”. I used the 2nd and 3rd largest framelits from the Lots of Labels Framelits on a piece of Designer Series Paper (I used Painted Autumn, which is now retired, but you can use any in place of this) and a piece of Whisper White cardstock. On the Whisper White card stock, I heat embossed in Gold Embossing Powder the wine glass and the sentiment, coloring in the wine glass with Fresh Fig ink using a Blender Pen. The wine bottle image was stamped in Memento ink, then colored in with Fresh Fig ink, Lemon-Lime Twist ink, and Garden Green ink with a Blender Pen, fussy cutting image.

The Fabulous Foil Acetate is adhered to the Fresh Fig base with Fast Fuse in the middle, adhered the Whisper White card stock to the DSP, adhered some 1/8” Sheer Ribbon in Fresh Fig and Mini Sequin Trim in Gold on the back of that, then used some Stampin Dimensionals to adhere to the acetate piece and this will cover the Fast Fuse. The wine bottle was then adhered with some Stampin Dimensionals and I added Faceted Gems in Gold for a little more bling.

For the inside sentiment, I stamped the wine glasses in Memento Ink and then alternating Fresh Fig and So Saffron ink along the bottom, stamped the sentiment and the “rings” from Timeless Textures stamp set in Fresh Fig ink.
