Hello and welcome to today’s blog post, which is a super cute fun fold card called the Screen Divider Card featuring products from the Snowflake Splendor Suite! I made this card several years ago at Christmas (just with different SU! products), so I thought this would be a great fun fold to use with the Snowflake Splendor Suite. This is not only an easy card to make, but it is also super cute Christmas décor!
Starting with the card base first, cut an 8 ½” x 11” piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock at 5 ½” x 11” and then score at 2 ¾”, 5 ½”, and 8 ¼”:
You will burnish the score lines by first folding the card in half (5 ½”) and then fold back the other two score lines (2 ¾” and 8 ¼”), which your folds will look like this:
For the “legs” of the card, I folded the end flaps in and used the Everyday Label Punch, lining up the end of the cardstock with the points on the punch and that the punch is in the middle, which I eyeballed the top corners of the punch to see that it was evenly spaced from the score line and the cardstock edge, see the arrows below:
You will repeat the process for the other side and this is what the card base will look like when done:
For the base layer, cut four pieces of Pool Party cardstock at 2 ½” x 4 ¾”:
For the next layer, cut two pieces of Snowflake Splendor DSP at 2 ¼” x 4 ½” (I used the front and back side of one design), one piece of Shimmery White cardstock cut at 2 ¼” x 4 ½”, stamped with one of the snowflakes from Snowflake Wishes in Balmy blue and embossed with the Winter Snow Embossing Folder, and a piece of Whisper White cardstock cut at 2 ¼” x 4 ½”, with the sentiment from Itty Bitty Christmas stamped in Pretty Peacock ink and the small curvy snowflake stamp from Snowflake Wishes in Pool Party ink along the top and bottom:
Additional elements for the card are:
1. Stamp the large snowflake from Snowflake Wishes in Pool Party ink on Whisper White cardstock and die-cut out with the coordinating die from So Many Snowflakes Dies.
2. From the Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper, use the second largest detailed snowflake die for one piece, the third largest detailed snowflake die for one piece, and the smallest detailed snowflake die for two pieces. Note-for the last three snowflakes, I used adhesive sheet on the back of the glimmer paper.
3. A 16” strip of the Snowflake Splendor Ribbon.
4. The sentiment from Itty Bitty Christmas is heat embossed in White Emboss Powder on a ½” x 2 ¾” of Pretty Peacock cardstock and I used the squared side of the Lovely Label Pick a Punch to punch each end.
To assemble, first attach the DSP and stamped and embossed cardstock layers to the Pool Party cardstock base layers. I then adhered the three smaller die-cut glimmer snowflakes to one of the DSP layered piece and then layered and adhered the stamped and glimmer die-cut pieces, with the sentiment adhered across the middle. This is adhered to the middle of the other DSP layered piece with a dimensional:
The panels are adhered as shown to the four side of the card base, the other side has five sides. I started with one end and then worked my way to the other end, this helped me line up the bottom straight across:
You will then use the 16” ribbon to tie into a loose bow around the card when it is folded, this will be the “belly band”:
Isn’t this super cute and fun card?? Using the dimensions that I provided, you will be able to make five of these cards! You will have five pieces of DSP measuring 2 ¼” x 3” and one strip at ¾” x 12”, which you can easily use to make a couple more cards or even on a 3D craft! Since the Snowflake Splendor Ribbon is a little “stiff”, you could always attach a little sticky note with “slide down” for ease and not have to try and tie the bow again.
