Hello and welcome to today’s blog post, which features both heat and dry embossing with the Enjoy the Moment stamp set and the new Timber 3D Embossing Folder! For me, the new Timber 3D Embossing folder is a must for my fall and winter cards (and maybe more if this embossing folder carries over from the July-December 2021 Mini Catalog)! Even though it is still summer, I thought I would start-to-think-about-fall with this fun and quick card for you today!
The base layer for the card front is a piece the Kraft 6” x 6” paper stack, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”. I spritzed the kraft paper with a little bit of water, embossed with the Timber 3D EF, used a blending brush with Crumb Cake ink, and then “dragged” the edges of the kraft paper on the Crumb Cake ink pad:
For the rest of the card front, you will need:
1. Cut a 2 ¼” x 4 ½” piece of Pale Papaya cardstock.
2. Cut a 2” x 4 ¼” piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, stamp the Maple Tree Seed Pod, Japanese Lantern, and seed stamps in Versamark ink, heat set with clear embossing powder, and use the blending brush with Crumb Cake ink over the embossed images, wiping off the excess ink with a towel. This will be adhered to the above cardstock.
3. Cut a 1 1/8” x 1 5/8” piece of Earl Espresso cardstock.
4. Cut a 1” x 1 ½” piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and stamp the sentiment from Enjoy the Moment in Early Espresso ink.
5. Cut a piece of the Early Espresso Faux Suede Trim long enough to tie around the embossed base layer kraft paper into a knot.
6. Three of the Bumblebee Trinkets.
Use liquid glue to adhere the layered cardstock to the embossed base layer and tie the trim around into a knot as shown. TIP-use glue dots to keep the trim in place. Use mini dimensionals to adhere the layered sentiment over the trim, use glue dots to adhere the Bumblebee Trinkets, and adhere this completed piece to an Early Espresso cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:
For the inside, cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment and seeds in Early Espresso ink, and stamp the Maple Tree Seed Pod in Crumb Cake ink, as shown:
See how dry embossing (the base layer paper) and heat embossing (the strip of cardstock) and make that added difference to your card front? Both are such simple techniques that are so fun to add! How about that Kraft Paper? I was going to use Cinnamon Cider cardstock, but I’m glad I decided to use the Kraft Paper instead!
