Card Swap Week part 2

Hello and welcome to today’s card, featuring the Garden Impressions Suite! Continuing on from yesterday’s post, this is the second card that I created for the card swap I participated in. While it may look very time consuming, I have some tips and tricks that make it very easy!

The card base for this is the Right Angle Fold Over, which if you use an 8 ½” x 11” piece of cardstock, you will score it at 4 ¼” and at 5 ½” (directly in the middle on each side), then remove your score blade from your trimmer, line up the corners from top to bottom so they are in the cutting track, and then cut. This will give you two card bases. I used Mint Macaron cardstock to make the card base:

This thinlit from the Springtime Impressions Thinlits Dies is cut out of Glossy White cardstock that I precut to 5 ½” x 4 ¼” and used a piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet, cut at 3” x 4”, cut again across corner to corner, adhered to the back of the Glossy White cardstock before going thru the Big Shot. Cutting the adhesive sheet this way will give you two pieces that you can use on each piece of cardstock so it will adhere to the card base and yet not waste any of the adhesive sheet. I then used a Q-Tip and colored in the flowers using Shaded Spruce, Petal Pink, Calypso Coral, Mango Melody, So Saffron and Melon Mambo inks:

I used this design from the Garden Impressions 6” x 6” DSP, cut to 3” x 3” and used the corner rounder from the Trio Punch. I used the bigger sentiment framelit from the Lakeside Framelits, cutting it out first from Whisper White cardstock:

I made a template for this framelit so anytime I want to use it with my Stamparatus all I have to is cut it out and then line up the sentiment. Makes it much easier than trying to line up the stamp or the framelit:

I used my Bone Folder for the card front folds:

Removed the backing from the adhesive and placed on each flap:

Adhere a strip of each ribbon from the Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack across the DSP:

I placed some adhesive on the back of the sentiment piece to secure some Silver Metallic Thread, and then adhered on top with dimensionals:

To adhere the DSP piece to the card front, place some adhesive towards the upper right-hand corner and then place on top:

This was such a fun and creative card that I hope everyone enjoys! I really liked how the flowers turned out by using the Glossy White cardstock and a Q-Tip to color, you can really control how light or dark you want them to be. Making the template for the sentiment framelits really is great if you have a bunch of cards to make or just one! I created a template piece for each framelit from this set to use with my Stamparatus, another reason why you should have this awesome product!!
