Hello and welcome to the Stamp It Group’s Christmas Blog Hop! My name is Christina Miller and you are visiting my blog, Christina’s Creative Corner. Whether this is your first stop on the blog hop tour, or you have hopped on over from another blog, thank you for letting me share my card creation with you today!
Since now is the time to get going on my own Christmas cards (not that I procrastinate…lol), I thought I would show you not only a quick and easy card with one of the designs from the Peaceful Place DSP, but to also make the coordinating envelope! This way, when you are preparing all your cards to either mail or hand-out, you are ready to go!
For the base layer for the card front, I used this design from the Peaceful Place DSP, cutting it into four 6” x 6” pieces. I then cut each piece at 4 ¼” x 5 ¼” (horizontal):
For the rest of the card front, you will need:
1. Use some of the Metallic Mesh Trim to tie into a small bow, use a piece of the Black & White Gingham Ribbon to tie into a knot around the center of the mesh bow, and use your snips to cut the gingham tails in half and distressing with the blade of your snips. Trim any excess as desired.
2. Use the middle sentiment layering die from the Seasonal Labels Dies to die-cut from the brushed finish Silver Foil Specialty Pack and heat emboss the sentiment from Christmas to Remember with white embossing powder. *make sure to remove the static from the foil sheet before stamping and heat embossing.
3. You will need Opal Rounds and Silver & Clear Epoxy Essentials, not pictured.
I adhered the embossed die-cut sentiment with dimensionals to the DSP base layer, a glue dot to adhere the mesh bow, liquid glue to adhere the base layer to a Misty Moonlight cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”, and then placed the Opal Rounds and the Silver & Clear Epoxy Essentials as shown:
For the inside, adhere the ¾” x 6” strip of DSP (opposite side design) to the side of a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of Basic White cardstock and stamp the sentiment from Christmas to Remember in Misty Moonlight ink:
For the coordinating envelope, adhere the 1 ¾” x 5 ½” piece of DSP (opposite side design) to the inside of the envelope with liquid glue and then stamp the front with the sentiment from Christmas to Remember and snowflake stamp from Snowflake Wishes in Misty Moonlight ink. *I stamped off once for the snowflake stamp before stamping on the envelope:
How quick and easy was that? Now you have four beautiful Christmas cards with coordinating envelopes ready to go! The Peaceful Place DSP is so beautiful and you can use any color of cardstock for your base since the colors are Basic Black, Basic Gray, and Smoky Slate! This is also a great way to let the DSP do the work for you!
