Feel better soon

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a super sweet “get well soon” card! No matter if someone is feeling “down and out” or “down for the count”, what better way to perk them up than a bright and colorful card! Speaking of color, do you ever wonder about different color combinations and how to figure them out? Head to Pinterest! That’s how I decided on the colors I used today. I started out with Coastal Cabana and I wanted to use colors that I could also use for the flower from Humming Along, so I chose to use Coastal Cabana, Mango Melody, and Granny Apple Green with Copper Foil for a little bling!

I first started with the flower on a piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamped in Smoky Slate ink with my Stamparatus:

The flower is colored in with Light and Dark Mango Melody Stampin’ Blends, the stem and leaf and colored with Light and Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends, and the stamen is colored in with Light Pineapple Punch Stampin’ Blends:

This is then heat embossed with copper powder and cut out with the coordinating framelit:

The base layer is Mango Melody cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:

The next layer is this design in Coastal Cabana from the Brights 6” x 6” DSP, cut at 3” x 5 ¼” and then two strips of Copper Foil, cut at ¾” x 5 ¼”:

First adhere the Copper Foil strips to the back of the Coastal Cabana DSP (use your grid paper to help line them up) and then adhere to the Mango Melody cardstock:

For the rest of the card front, you will need to cut out flower, a piece of Whisper White Tulle Ribbon tied into a bow, and the sentiment from Florentine Filigree stamp set is stamped in Coastal Cabana ink on a piece of Whisper White cardstock, cut out with the smaller layering framelit from Lily Framelits Dies, and then cut out a piece of Mango Melody cardstock with the larger layering framelit:

Adhere the flower on the DSP, adhere the bow with a glue dot, and then adhere the layering cardstock pieces together, then adhere to the card front with dimensionals. This is then adhered to a Thick Whisper White cardstock card base, cut at 4 ¼”x 11” and scored at 5 ½”:

The inside sentiment is from Humming Along in Coastal Cabana ink and adhere a ¾” strip of the DSP along the bottom, trimming off the excess:

What do you think?? Bright, fun, quick, and easy! All the things a card should be! Have you ever been stuck on color combinations? Just choose one color and see what you get, you just may be surprised!

Have a Lucky Day!

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which a fun and easy St. Patrick’s Day themed card! Combining the four-leaf clover stamp from Amazing Life, the sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings, and my own DIY shamrocks, I was able to create this super cute card!

The base layer is a 3 ½” x 5” piece of Whisper White cardstock and I stamped the four-leaf clover stamp in Call Me Clover and Granny Apple Green inks. The next layer is from the Brights 6” x 6” DSP in Granny Apple Green cut at 3” x 4 ½”:

For the card front, you will stamp the sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings in Call Me Clover ink on Whisper White cardstock, cut out with the smallest Layering Oval Framelit, and then cut a piece from Call Me Clover cardstock with the smallest scallop Layering Oval Framelit. To create the shamrocks, I used the heart framelit from the Stitched Labels Framelits to cut out three hearts in Gold Foil, Granny Apple Green, and Call Me Clover cardstock. I made the stem from the flower framelits from Hummingbird Framelits Dies, just cutting a small piece with the framelit. If you do not have this, you can easily just cut the cardstock with your Snips:

The easiest way I found to adhere all the pieces of cardstock for the shamrocks was to use a dimensional. I started with the stem and then adhered each heart, starting with the sides and then the top:

For each shamrock I added a pearl embellishment to the middle, the gold shamrock has a gold metallic pearl and the Granny Apple Green and Call Me Clover shamrock’s have a Pearl Basic Jewel that I colored with a Stampin’ Blends Marker:

To assemble card front, adhere the base layer to a 4 ¼” x 11”, scored at 5 ½” Call Me Clover cardstock card base and then adhere the DSP on top. The sentiment is then adhered and remove the backing from the dimensional to adhere the shamrock’s:

For the inside of the card, cut a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of Whisper White cardstock, adhere a ¾” x 4” piece of Brights 6” x 6” along the bottom, and then stamp the four-leaf clovers in Granny Apple Green and Call Me Clover inks:

Wasn’t that a fun card?? This would be a great birthday card for someone who’s birthday is on St. Patrick’s Day, a holiday card to send to family and friends, or even just wishing someone good luck!!

Fun and easy Birthday card!

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a fun and easy birthday card made with the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set and the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies. In case you have overlooked the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set, it also coordinates with the Balloon Bouquet Punch, the Classic Label Punch, and the Happy Birthday Thinlits Dies! Having so many options with a stamp set makes it super easy to create with!

Before I created this card, I first started with the Brights 6” x 6” DSP, decided to use the Melon Mambo striped paper, chose my color combination, and went from there!

You will start with a card base in Smoky Slate cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_2caa

The base layer is Powder Pink cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and embossed with the Striped Scallops TIEF:

fullsizeoutput_2cad

For the front of the card, you will first cut 1 ½” piece from the 6” x 6” DSP (it will be 1 ½” x 6”) and then cut the remaining 4 ½” x 6 at 3”, so you will then have to pieces measuring 3” x 4 ½”. You will use a piece of Silver Foil Sheet and Smokey Slate cardstock for the Celebrate Thinlit and use the Fine Tip Glue Pen to adhere the two pieces together, sliding it slightly so the Smokey Slate cardstock is showing underneath. For the balloons, I used the balloon stamp from the set to stamp in Smokey Slate and Powder Pink inks on a piece of Whisper White cardstock and punched out. The bigger balloon is punched out of a piece of Melon Mambo cardstock. The sentiment is stamped in Smokey Slate and Melon Mambo inks on Whisper White cardstock and then punched out with the Classic Label Punch. For the balloon ribbon, I used some Silver and Whisper White Baker’s Twine that I tied in a knot:

To assemble the front, I adhered the DSP to the embossed base layer and then adhered to the card base. I cut Mini Dimensionals in half to adhere the Celebrate on the DSP and then used Dimensionals for the balloons and sentiments:

The inside sentiment is stamped in Smoky Slate ink and the flowers are stamped in Powder Pink, Melon Mambo, and Granny Apple Green inks. I cut the 1 ½” piece of DSP in half (¾” x 6”), adhered along the bottom, and then trimmed the excess off:

Wasn’t that fun and easy?? I just love it when a seemingly “complicated” card is easy to make and with these instructions you can make two cards at once!

Mixing up Designer Series Paper!

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is combining the Garden Impressions and the Brights 6” x 6” Designer Series Paper! This is a great quick and easy card to make, the only stamping is the sentiment on the front! I will admit that creating this card was a “happy accident”, I was trying to decide which of the two DSP’s to use, so, I just started playing around and thought the Mango Melody 6” x 6” DSP went perfectly with this flower design from Garden Impressions. To top it off, I was able to make an alternative card and use almost every bit of paper! Win-win!!

To create this card, you will start off with the card base in Thick Whisper White cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”

fullsizeoutput_251f

Each of the Designer Series Papers are cut exactly the same: cut ¾” off one side ( 5 ¼” x 6”), then along the 6” side, cut at 2”. This will give you ¾” x 6”, 2” x 5 ¼”, and 4” x 5 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_2522

The dragonflies are from the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits are cut out using the Gold Glimmer Paper and the sentiment is from Itty Bitty Greetings on Whisper White cardstock in Mango Melody ink, cut out with the Stitched Labels Framelits:

fullsizeoutput_2525

To put the card together, I adhered the 2” x 5 ¼” Garden Impressions DSP to the 4” x 5 ¼” Brights DSP, adhered the sentiment, used mini dimensionals to adhere the dragonflies, and added some Gold Metallic Pearls to the center of the flowers:

fullsizeoutput_2528

The remaining ¾” x 6” of Garden Impressions DSP is adhered to the bottom of the inside of the card, trimming off the extra from the end:

fullsizeoutput_252b

How easy was that?? While this card uses the striped design, my alternative below uses the other side of the Mango Melody DSP, which is the dot design. I did change it up and used the bee thinlit from the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlit Dies from the Black Foil Sheets, from the 2018 Holiday Catalog!

The 2018 Holiday Catalog will be live September 5th, so if you would like a complimentary copy please contact me for more details!!

Christmas in July Blog Hop!

fullsizeoutput_2245

Hello and welcome to the Stamp It Group’s Christmas in July Blog Hop!! Even though Christmas is a few months away, it’s never too early to get some great inspiration and ideas from all the talented ladies in this blog hop! For the card I created today, I wanted to go outside the typical Cherry Cobbler/Garden Green and Real Red/Old Olive color combinations and used Poppy Parade and Call Me Clover! I also used the Snowflake Sentiments stamp set and the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits Dies, which were carried over from the 2017 Holiday Catalog to the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog. This was one of my favorite Christmas sets from the Holiday Catalog, so I was excited to see it carried over!!

The card base is Call Me Clover cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”. I used the edge die from the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits Dies along the bottom of the card front:

fullsizeoutput_221e

The base layer is from the Brights 6” x 6” DSP in Poppy Parade and white stripes, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_2221

The next layer is Call Me Clover cardstock, cut at 3 ¼” x 4 ½”, use the same edge die from the card front, and used the largest oval die from the Layering Ovals Dies:

fullsizeoutput_2224

The last layer is another piece of DSP in Poppy Parade and white dots, cut at 3” x 4 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_2227

The front sentiment is from the Snowflake Sentiments stamped in Poppy Parade on a piece of Whisper White cardstock and then cut out with the largest oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits. This is then adhered to the Call Me Clover oval:

The snowflakes from the dies are cut out with Sparkle Glimmer Paper and a piece of Poppy Parade cardstock cut at ½” x 5 ½”, which is adhered to the inside of the card:

The DSP is adhered to the Call Me Clover cardstock, tie a bow around this with a piece of 1/8” Sheer Ribbon in Whisper White, and then adhere the sentiment with dimensionals:

fullsizeoutput_2233

The DSP base layer is adhered to the card base, and then use dimensionals to adhere the sentiment piece:

fullsizeoutput_2236

I used three of the sparkle snowflakes around the sentiment that are adhered with glue dots:

fullsizeoutput_2239

The inside sentiment is on a piece of 4” x 5 ¼” Whisper White cardstock, stamped in Call Me Clover ink. I used the three remaining sparkle snowflakes around the sentiment with glue dots and then stamped the three-snowflake stamp along the bottom in Poppy Parade ink:

Don’t you love the Poppy Parade and Call Me Clover color combo for Christmas?? With the color revamp this year, what new colors would you create to use for the holidays? How about Merry Merlot and Shaded Spruce? Lovely Lipstick and Granny Apple Green? Blackberry Bliss and Mossy Meadow?
