Fun and bright birthday card!

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a fun and quick birthday card featuring Itty Bitty Birthdays and Birthday Backgrounds stamp sets! What I love about the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set is that you have a variety of sentiments that you can easily coordinate with other products to create a fun birthday card. But, today I set out to make a quick card that you can easily make in a few minutes or make several of and just change the colors to have a stack on hand!

The base layer is Whisper White cardstock cut at 4” x 5 ¼”and I chose four of the sentiments to create the background. I first stamped the sentiment in Pineapple Punch ink and then layered the sentiment on top in either Blueberry Bushel or Granny Apple Green inks. These are stamped slightly off, so there is no need to worry about lining them up just right:

For the rest of the card front you will need:

1. Granny Apple Green cardstock cut at 3” x 3”.

2. Whisper White cardstock cut at 2 ¾” x 2 ¾” to layer on top of the Granny Apple Green cardstock. The background is created by stamping the streamers in Granny Apple Green and confetti in Pineapple Punch inks.

3. Cut a piece of Pineapple Punch cardstock with the fourth smallest Stitched Nested Labels Die.

4. Stamp the sentiment on Whisper White cardstock in Blueberry Bushel ink and cut out with the third smallest Stitched Nested Labels Die. This will be layered on top of the Pineapple Punch cardstock piece.

5. Two of the silver Candle Embellishments.

Adhere the two layering square pieces together and then adhere to the stamped base cardstock:

Adhere the two stitched nested pieces together and then adhere in the middle of the square pieces with dimensionals:

This completed piece is then adhered to a Blueberry Bushel cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”. Then adhere the two Candle Embellishments:

The inside sentiment is on Whisper White cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamped in Blueberry Bushel ink, the streamers are in Granny Apple Green ink, and the confetti is in Pineapple Punch ink:

Very quick and very easy! I know that some can “struggle” to make a more masculine card, but if you just use a basic stamp set and bright colors, you have a masculine type card. If you do not have the Stitched Nested Labels Dies, you can easily use a punch, or even just cut the sentiment and layering cardstock like I did with the square layering pieces. The added Candle Embellishments give it just that little added touch or you can also use adhesive backed sequins or enamel dots instead.

Smile…it’s your day!

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a fun card featuring the new stamp set, Capture the Good! This stamp set was inspired by Tami White for her 1 million dollar sales achievement (she was the first demonstrator to achieve the 2 million dollar sales achievement last year). Not only is Tami my upline, but she is also a sweet friend of mine! Granite I only get to see her a couple times a year at On Stage, but it is so wonderful seeing her and the other sweet ladies from Team Stamp It! When she offered a special bundle featuring her stamp set AND you could get it autographed, I jumped at the chance! Needless to say, this stamp set will be part of my “permanent” collection!! Normally I only create cards using Stampin’ Up! products, but I thought the camera from this set would be perfect to take it a step up with the lens and use a Mini Wobble Spring. These are self-adhesive springs that give your projects a little “pop” and you can see them HERE from Amazon.com.

The base layer is Pool Party cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”. I used the dash stamp from the Birthday Backgrounds in Pretty Peacock ink and used my Stamparatus with the “hinge step technique” to line the stamp evenly across. TIP-normally you would just move your plate to the next hinge, but with the stamp you will move it two over and then stamp:

The camera is stamped in Memento Ink on Smoky Slate cardstock, I filled in the shadows with the Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends, used the 1” and 1 ½” Circle Punches for the camera lens, heat embossed the sentiment in silver on Whisper White cardstock and cut out with the 6thlargest Stitched Nested Labels, cut out a piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock with the 5thlargest label to layer under the sentiment, and picked out 7 of the Pool Party Iridescent Sequins. TIP-I number my labels, 1 is the largest and 8 is the smallest:

The sentiment layers are adhered together and then I adhered both the camera and sentiment to the stamped based layer:

The larger ring for the camera lens is adhered with mini dimensionals and then the smaller inner lens piece is adhered with the mini wobble spring:

This is what the Mini Wobble Spring looks like

This piece is then adhered to a Pretty Peacock cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”. I used my Take Your Pick Tool and Fine Tip Glue Pen to adhere the sequins to make it look like “camera flashes”:

The inside sentiment is on a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of Whisper White cardstock, the sentiment is in Pretty Peacock ink and the small lens stamp in Pool Party ink:

Isn’t this a fun stamp set?? Not only can you make super cute cards, but it would be great for scrapbooking!

Celebrate You with Broadway Bound DSP

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which started out wondering how I was going to use this piece of 3” x 4 ½” piece of Broadway Bound Designer Series Paper. Since I haven’t created with this DSP in a while, I thought it was time to bring it back out and look at what I have left to use, which is a lot sadly….but this card is very easy to make and I chose to use Lemon Lime Twist as my “pop of color”!

The base layer is Gray Granite cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and embossed with the Striped Scallops TIEF:

The next layer is this design from the Broadway Bound DSP, cut at 3” x 4 ½”:

The rest of the items that you will need for the front of the card:

-Enough Black Satin Ribbon to wrap around the base layer

-The Celebrate Thinlit Die to cut out of Black Foil Sheet and Lemon Lime Twist cardstock

-The You Thinlit Die to cut out of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock

-Use the Balloon Bouquet Punch to punch out the small balloon in Black Foil Sheet and the large balloon in Lemon Lime Twist cardstock. Tie Whisper White Baker’s Twine to the Black Foil balloon and Basic Black Baker’s Twine for the Lemon Lime Twist balloon:

First place your satin ribbon around the middle of the embossed base layer (adhering the end pieces to the back) and then adhere the DSP on top:

Adhere the celebrate cut out in foil on top of the cardstock piece using your Fine Tip Glue Pen and then adhere to the DSP. The You is adhered with Mini Dimensionals:

The balloons are adhered with dimensionals and then this completed piece is adhered to a Back Black cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

For the inside, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock to 4” x 5 ¼”, the sentiment is from the Picture Perfect stamp set in Memento ink and the background is from the Birthday Backgrounds stamp set in Gray Granite and Lemon Lime Twist inks:

Fun and easy card to make, right?? This card is based in neutral colors, so you could really use any color for your “pop of color”! Don’t forget, to get your “balloon string” to twirl, use your bone folder, just like you would with ribbon and the edge of your scissors!

Wondering what specials are going on?? Current specials are listed to the right!!
